At last night's 93rd Academy Awards, Daniel Kaluuya scooped the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Fred Hampton in the critically acclaimed Judas and the Black Messiah.

However, clearly elated by his well-deserved win, Kaluuya went completely off-script with his hilariously awkward acceptance speech.

The 32-year-old British actor - how also took home the Best Supporting Actor prize at both the BAFTAS and Golden Globes - did what a lot of people did, and gave a shoutout to his parents. But rather than thanking them for their life-long support, he decided to discuss their sex life, and the fact that it resulted in Kaluuya being there to take home the prize.

"Mom and dad, they had sex. It’s amazing! I’m here," he exclaimed.

However, as well as having his esteemed colleagues in the room and the millions around the world watching from home, Kaluuya also had his sister and mom there watching the cheeky speech unfold.

Kaluuya's sister simply started giggling and threw he head in her hands, but the actor's mom's face was a picture!

Clearly bewildered by the comments, she leans in to her daughter and asks: "What's he talking about?"

Deserving a whole new award for Most Baffling But Brilliant Acceptance Speech, viewers quickly took to social media to share their appreciation for both Kaluuya and his mom.

One Twitter user wrote: "'My mom, my dad - they had sex. It's amazing!' may be one of my favorite Oscar speeches ever. Thank you, Daniel Kaluuya."

And another viewed was grateful the producers didn't start to "play him off", writing: "We never would have gotten that surprise twist at the end of Daniel Kaluuya's speech if they played him off early!!!"

Dave Itzkoff joked: "Incredible that we get to see the real-time reaction from Daniel Kaluuya’s mother as he talks about his parents having sex."

Following his speech, per news.com.au, Kaluuya told reporters: "I haven’t talked to my mom yet. I’m gonna avoid my phone for a bit. But she’ll be cool. She has a sense of humor."
