Piers Morgan's Twitter account has been removed after the journalist and presenter became the victim of hacking.

The controversial figure has long used his Twitter account to communicate with his fans and share his divisive opinions - and the British personality has amassed an impressive 8.3 million followers on the social media platform.

However, his followers were recently alerted to some bizarre tweets being posted on the talk show host's account - with a number of abusive and vile posts being aimed at the late Queen Elizabeth II, Ed Sheeran, and Andrew Tate.

Per The Mirror, one tweet from the hacked account tagged the 'Shape of You' singer, before calling Sheeran a "ginger p***k", with another calling the chart-topper a "ginger f***er".

Another tweet read "f*** the Queen" and a fourth shared fake news stating that Andrew Tate had been killed in Dubai - a post that Tate directly replied to with the message: "Hard to kill".

At times, Morgan's profile name was also changed to "lol" and "Michael" - among other more offensive terms.

Following a string of inappropriate posts, Morgan's account appears to have been muted, and anybody attempting to visit his account will be met with a blank page with his profile picture and header image removed.

In response to the hacking, the official Twitter account for Morgan's talk show Uncensored - which boasts over 200,000 followers - has confirmed that the journalist is no longer in control of his account.

"In case you were wondering, @piersmorgan has been hacked," page officials wrote, including a screenshot of the hacked page. "Any chance of getting him back, @elonmusk?"

However, not all Twitter users have sympathized with Morgan over the loss of his account.

Some Twitter users have even called on the hackers to share Morgan's direct messages with stars like Christiano Ronaldo and Meghan Markle.

It is currently not known who is responsible for the hacking, but one post shared by the hackers did identify themselves as the "chuckling squad", per The Mirror.

Although, Morgan hasn't exactly kept himself out of trouble when in full control of his account.

Earlier this month, Morgan faced criticism from social media users after sharing his thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent Netflix documentary.

In fact, after some Twitter users accused him of fancying the Duchess, Morgan shared photos of his wife to counter the claims.

Additionally, he was also once branded a "stupid piece of s***" by rapper Nicki Minaj in a heated exchange on the micro-blogging site.
