The professional wrestler assaulted by Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s son during a live event has broken his silence, offering an update on his condition after the shocking viral incident.

Raja Jackson, 25, came under fire after footage from a Knokx Pro Wrestling show (streamed on Kick) showed him repeatedly punching wrestler Syko Stu, real name Stuart Smith, in the head.

While professional wrestling is scripted and outcomes are predetermined, Fightful reporter Sean Ross Sapp insisted that Jackson’s outburst was not part of the storyline.

“Raja Jackson knocked the person out (ring name Syko Stu) and followed up with a lot of heavy punches… which were not planned to do that kind of damage,” Sapp said on X.

Smith was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries following the incident.

Syko Stu suffers serious injuries

On Sunday, a statement released via Smith’s social media confirmed that the wrestler has since been discharged and is now recovering at home.

“He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER,” the statement on Instagram read. “His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.”

Despite the painful ordeal, Smith and his wife, Contessa Patterson, said they were overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support.

“He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits,” the couple wrote. “Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way; whether through donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express.”

Rampage Jackson reacts

Raja Jackson has yet to make a public statement, but his father, 47-year-old MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, expressed disappointment over the incident.

In a statement posted on X, Rampage suggested the altercation stemmed from an earlier moment when Smith struck Raja with a beverage can. Video shows Smith smashing the can over Jackson’s head before the punches erupted.

“I don’t play that s**t,” Rampage was heard saying as other wrestlers intervened. “I will f**k him up, bro.”

The former UFC champion also revealed that Raja had recently suffered a concussion during sparring and “had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact.”

With Smith beginning his recovery and Raja remaining silent, the incident continues to spark debate in both the wrestling and MMA communities over safety and accountability in live entertainment events.
