Snoop Dogg has finally revealed the truth behind his recent comments about "giving up smoke".

The 52-year-old rapper recently left his fans scratching their heads after revealing that he was going to "give up smoke".

In a tweet to his fans on Thursday (November 16), the megastar - whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr - penned: "After much consideration & conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke."

"Please respect my privacy at this time," he added, before reiterating his commitment in the caption: "I’m giving up smoke."

Snoop is a celebrity who is synonymous with enjoying some of God's lettuce, so many of his fans were baffled by his announcement - with many unsure about whether or not he was being serious.

But, on Monday (November 20), Snoop shared a video that clarified his comments - and fear not Snoop fans, it doesn't look like he's saying goodbye to the green anytime soon. Check out his new video below - and it will explain everything:

In the video, Snoop says: "I have an announcement - I'm giving up smoke. I know what you're thinking, 'Snoop, smoke is kinda your whole thing!' But I'm done with it. Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky-icky. I'm going smokeless."

But as the camera pans out, Snoop can be seen sitting next to a Solo Stove fire pit - which, you guess it, prides itself on being smokeless.

"Solo Stove fix pot - they take out the smoke. Clever," he concludes, before toasting a marshmallow.

After sharing the video, his fans had A LOT to say about having the wool pulled over their eyes for an ad campaign.

"Bro had the worlds stoners questioning their life choices for this ad," one person joked.

"All this for an ad," another tweeted, with a third writing: "Snoop Dogg after tricking the whole internet for a bag."

Others expressed genuine praise for the marketing, with one fan tweeting: "So this was the plan all along? Really clever marketing can’t lie!"

Another added: "The most clever marketing done in a hot minute!"

Back in 2013, the rapper told GQ magazine that he was smoking up to 80 joints a day. He has also been a part of several business ventures surrounding weed.

So, there you have it. A guy who once smoked 80 joints a day had us all fooled. Feel dumb?
