"He graced the world with an array of extraordinary talents, serving as an actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist, and dear friend to many. His infectious smile, contagious laughter, and unwavering zest for life will forever linger in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him."

Soul - born David Richard Solberg on August 28, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois - became a household name thanks to his role on the iconic 1970s television series Starsky & Hutch. Soul's portrayal of Hutch, alongside Paul Michael Glaser's Starsky, made the show an international hit.

Before becoming a television sensation, Soul had a diverse career. He initially pursued a career in music, and in the 1960s, he gained recognition as a folk singer. His single 'Don't Give Up on Us' became a chart-topping hit in the United States and the United Kingdom in 1977. His music career also included successful albums like David Soul and Playing to an Audience of One.

However, it was his role in Starsky & Hutch that truly catapulted him to stardom. The show, known for its fast-paced action, memorable car chases, and the chemistry between Soul and Glaser, became a pop culture phenomenon and is still enjoyed today.

Soul's portrayal of Hutch as the calmer, more intellectual counterpart to Starsky's street-smart character resonated with audiences and contributed to the show's success during its four-year run from 1975 to 1979.

Following the show, Soul continued to work in television, film, and theater. He appeared in various TV shows and movies, including Magnum Force and Salem's Lot. He also pursued a successful stage career, performing in theater productions such as Deathtrap and Jerry Springer: The Opera.

Throughout his career, Soul's achievements spanned both the entertainment industry and the world of music, making him a versatile and enduring talent in Hollywood.

Our thoughts at this time are with Soul's family, friends, and fans.
