A widowed mother-of-five has received financial support from one of the world's biggest celebrities: Taylor Swift.

As reported by USA Today, 48-year-old Theodis Ray Quarles passed away back in December after being rushed into hospital the day before for "breathing difficulties".

The next day, his wife, Vickie Quarles, received a phone call revealing that Theodis had died as a result of Covid-19.

The couple share five daughters: Alyssa, Anaya, Asia, Allie. and Aryah.

Speaking to Yahoo News, Vickie said that "to know Theodis was to love him," and she described her late husband as "an outstanding man who would give his shirt off his back for you".

A few days after Theodis' passing, family friend DeQuanda Smith set up a GoFundMe page in order to help raise money to support the Quarles family.

"I decided to launch this GoFundMe initiative in support of Vicki and her girls to offer financial relief and worry from things associated with basic immediate needs as well as for their continued growth, goals and [aspirations]," Smith writes on the page.

Now, the $50,000 target has been smashed, thanks to 32-year-old chart-topper Taylor Swift and her mom, Andrea. As of this writing, the total amount raised stands at $64,540.

After surpassing the target, Smith shared a heartfelt message from Vickie, who wanted to thank everybody who donated, including the Swifts.

"Words cannot express how incredibly grateful I am for all of the kind and caring people who have made donations in support of me and my 5 daughters," she writes.

"I would like to especially say thank you to Andrea and Taylor Swift for your thoughtfulness and generosity from our homestate of Tennessee," Vickie's message continues. "I appreciate the sweet personal note, it warmed my heart.

"The road ahead will definitely not be the same without Theodis but with each day I am humbled and anchored in hope that I can continue to raise the girls to be as compassionate and caring as all of you. Thank you so very much."

Of course, this isn't the only kind-hearted act Taylor has pulled off recently.

Earlier this month, a woman on TikTok went viral after revealing how she managed to get the 'You Belong With Me' singer to be a reference on her CV. Check it out below:
