Tributes have poured in for Ewen MacIntosh, who has sadly died at the age of 50.

On Wednesday (February 21), the actor's representatives revealed that MacIntosh had passed away.

"With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh," JustRight Management said in a statement. "His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home.

"There will be a private cremation for family & close friends soon & a celebratory memorial later in the year."

Ed Scott - a close friend of MacIntosh and CEO of Dodged A Bullet Music - also shared a poignant tribute to the beloved star of The Office, saying in a statement:  "I am completely devastated by the loss of my very good friend Ewen MacIntosh. He may have had a famous face known by millions as Keith from The Office but the person inside is what I will most remember.

"Ewen was so full of empathy, kindness, and integrity and above all a really good man. Sending love to his parents Sara and Ewen Sr, his brother Colin and his family, as well as his many friends and fans."

MacIntosh is perhaps best known for his role in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's BBC sitcom The Office in the early 2000s, in which, he played accountant "Big" Keith Bishop. The actor's impeccable comedic timing and deadpan humor meant he was perfect for playing the bumbling and socially inept office worker.

Following the news of MacIntosh's passing, Gervais has taken to X to pay tribute to his former co-star.

"Extremely sad news. The very funny and very lovely Ewen Macintosh, known to many as 'Big Keith' from The Office, has passed away. An absolute original. RIP," the show creator tweeted.

Officials from the TV channel Gold also paid tribute to the star, writing: "We at GOLD are saddened to hear that Ewen MacIntosh has passed away at the age of 50. We loved him as Keith in The Office and were lucky enough to work with him over the years on the channel. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at such a difficult time."

Comedy producer Gina Lyons added: "Heartbroken to hear a very special friend @ewenmacintosh has passed away. He was such an incredibly kind and funny person. Eternally loved."

Actor Rufus Jones also tweeted: "Thinking of Ewen Macintosh today, who I’m reading has sadly left us. A familiar and hilarious member of the Edinburgh sketch scene when we all started, and went on to create one of the most iconic scene stealers in tv comedy history. An absolute pleasure of a guy."

And TV personality Lizzie Cundy wrote: "I am devastated to hear my dear friend Ewen Macintosh has passed away. We were great mates and we danced together in Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas video. Such a lovely man inside and out.. Love and prayers to his family."

The Office is arguably one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, as millions of people still enjoy it over a decade after it finished.

The cast was a huge part of what made it so entertaining for viewers, but sadly, we have lost some of them since the conclusion of the show.

Here are some of those actors who have sadly passed away:

Hugh Dane

Although he didn't have a huge speaking role in the show, Dane portrayed the security guard of the office building, Hank Tate. He popped up in various episodes throughout the series, notably during season four's "night out" episode, where the primary cast struggles to remember his name.

Dane sadly passed away in 2018 from pancreatic cancer; he was 75.

Patrice O'Neal

Patrice O'Neal played Lonny Collins, a recurring character in the warehouse. If you're struggling to place the character name, it's because Michael referred to him as "Sea Monster."

Outside of The Office, O'Neal was a stand-up comedian. He sadly died in November 2011 from complications due to a stroke. He was 41.

Ken Howard

Ken Howard only appeared in one episode of The Office, but his presence was felt in the early seasons. Howard played Ed Truck, the old regional manager of Dunder Mifflin Scranton.

He appeared in season two, but his lasting impact was in season three when Michael struggled to come to terms with his death, after Creed explained that Ed Truck was decapitated.

Howard died in March 2016 at 71 years old.

Ranjit Chowdry

Ranjit Chowdry only appeared in a few episodes, yet each of his lines were incredibly quotable. Chowdry played Vikram, who met Michael when he was forced to become a telemarketer to get some extra cash. Michael then later attempted to hire Vikram for the Michael Scott Paper Company, which ultimately didn't pan out.

Chowdry died in April 2020 after emergency surgery to correct a ruptured ulcer. He was 65 years old. 

John Ingle

John Ingle was in a single episode of The Office, yet without his character, Dunder Mifflin simply wouldn't exist. Ingle played Robert Dunder, co-founder of the company, and Michael sought his expertise when he felt that Ryan was discriminating against the older employees.

Ingle died in September 2012 at the age of 84 following cancer-related complications.

Peggy Stewart

Peggy Stewart was introduced to The Office during Jim and Pam's wedding as Pam's conservative grandmother, Sylvia Beesly.

Stewart passed away in 2019, just weeks after her 96th birthday.

Connie Sawyer

Another grandmother in The Office, Connie Sawyer, played Michael's "Nana Scott," whom he seeks financial investment from to get his new company off the ground.

Sadly for Michael, she was unwilling to invest as his business plan did not match her standards.

Sawyer passed away in 2019 at the age of 105.

Hansford Rowe

Hansford Rowe is another actor who only had a brief part in the office, but left a very lasting impression. Playing Phyliss' father who stole the show at her wedding by walking down the aisle - much to the dismay of Michael who was in charge of pushing his wheelchair.

Rowe sadly died in a car accident in California in 2017 at the age of 93.

George Ives

Another member of Phyliss' family was Uncle Al, portrayed by George Ives. After being kicked out of the wedding, Michael redeemed himself by finding Uncle Al, an elderly man with dementia, who had gone missing.

Ives died in 2013 at the age of 87.

Brad William Henke

Brad William Henke played one of the villains of The Office, after his character, Frank, vandalised Pam's mural and then attempted to assault her in the car park.

Henke, a former NFL player who appeared in Super Bowl XXIV for the Denver Broncos, had to cut his football career short in the 90's due to an injury.

Henke died in his sleep at the age of 56 in November 2022.

Alan Fudge

Alan Fudge played Alan Brand, the CEO of Dunder Mifflin, who steered the company into bankruptcy. Fudge passed away due to lung and liver cancer in 2011 at the age of 67.

Georgia Engel

Georgia Engel was involved in season eight of The Office after Erin decided she wanted to stay in Florida following a work trip. She decides to become a live-in maid to Irene, played by Engel.

She died in 2019, aged 70.

Cloris Leachman

Cloris Leachman had one of the funniest parts of The Office, as she played Lily, a character in a romance film that Jim, Pam, and Andy watch together. Starring opposite Jack Black, the fake movie sure left a lasting impact on audiences.

Leachman died in 2021 at the age of 94.

Weston Nathanson

Weston Nathanson played a small part as a Civil War archivist during season eight's episode "Gettysburg".

He died in 2023, aged 84.

Swati Chokalingam

Swati Chokalingam played Kelly's mother in the show, but she sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2012. Kelly's parents were portrayed by Mindy Kaling's actual parents.

Following the death of her mother, Kaling - who played Kelly - became an ambassador for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Nick Lashaway

Nick Lashaway was another employee at the telemarketing company who was highly impressed by Michael.

Tragically, Lashaway lost his life in a car crash in Framingham, Massachusetts in 2016. He was 28.

Mark York

Mark York played William "Billy" Merchan, the owner of the building where The Office is set.

York, who was involved in a car accident in 1995 that led to him being a wheelchair user, passed away in 2021 at the age of 55.

Dan Cole

Dan Cole appeared in the season two episode "Valentine's Day" as the branch manager of Dunder Mifflin Buffalo. He appeared in two further episodes after this.

Cole passed away in 2024 at the age of 60 after a prolonged illness. 

Ed Lauter

Ed Lauter played Sam Stone Sr., an elderly man whom Dwight and Andy were keen to win the business of. Sadly for them, it was Stone's son who was actually in charge of the business.

Lauter passed away in 2013 at the age of 74.

Kim Woodburn, the legendary reality TV star known for her no-nonsense sass and spotless cleaning expertise, has sadly passed away at the age of 83.

Her manager confirmed the heartbreaking news to BBC News, revealing that the How Clean Is Your House and Celebrity Big Brother star died following a short illness.

"It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness," her manager said in a statement.

"Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person. Her husband Peter is heartbroken at the loss of his soulmate. We are so proud of the amazing things Kim achieved in her life and career."

Known for her sharp tongue, fearless opinions, and unforgettable TV moments, Kim became a cult favorite among fans of British reality television.

Her passing follows a recent wave of health concerns. Kim had been cancelling work commitments and updating fans that she was taking time off.

In her final video posted on Valentine’s Day, she cheerfully greeted her fans: "Hello my loves! I hope you are all okay and keeping well."

Earlier this year, Kim told her followers: "No more videos for now, my loves, I need to get better!"

A post on her Instagram added: "We regret to tell you that Kim is unable to record any further videos for the foreseeable future, due to a health problem. Kim sends her love to you all."

She had also undergone eye surgery, and previously opened up about her lifelong battle with partial blindness, per the Sun.

In a 2011 interview, Kim revealed: "If you watch me carefully you will see I never stare at people and I blink a lot.

"If I do have to see something across the room I swivel my entire body around and look from my good eye. I was born with little or no sight in my right eye and not great sight in my left eye."

Born in March 1942, Kim left home at just 16 and later worked as a live-in cleaner. But it wasn’t until 2002 that her life dramatically changed.

Channel 4 sought a cleaner with a “funny temperament” for a new show - and Kim was the perfect match. After a screen test, she was paired with Aggie MacKenzie, and the hit show How Clean Is Your House was born. The pair hosted six series up to 2009.

Later that same year, Kim joined the jungle cast of I'm A Celebrity, finishing as runner-up to Gino D’Acampo.

She then graced Celebrity Come Dine With Me and became a fan-favorite on Big Brother’s spin-offs, before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2017, where she finished in third place.

From tackling filthy homes to sparking fiery debates in the Big Brother house, she built a reputation as one of TV’s most outspoken - and beloved - personalities.

Ian Gelder - the British actor perhaps best known for his role in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones - has sadly passed away at the age of 74.

As reported by BBC News, the announcement of Gelder's passing was confirmed by his husband, fellow actor Ben Daniels.

His doting husband revealed in a heartbreaking Instagram post that Gelder had passed away on Monday following a battle with bile duct cancer.

"It is with huge huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner Ian Gelder," Daniels' post began.

Adding that Gelder had been diagnosed with cancer in December, Daniels revealed that he was "stopped all work" to care for his husband.

"But neither of us had any idea that it would all be so fast," he tragically wrote.

"He was my absolute rock and we’d been partners for more than 30 years," the tribute continued. "If we weren’t together we spoke to each other every day."

Daniels then described Gelder as "the kindest, most generous-spirited and loving human being."

"He was a wonderful wonderful actor and everyone who worked with him was touched by his heart and light," the post contained. "I honestly don’t know what I’ll do without him by my side.

"He coped with his dreadful illness with such bravery, with no self-pity. Ever."

Daniels then explained that the photo he had attached to the post was taken around Christmas time, after he had successfully got his husband out of the hospital. "Even though he’d gone through the worst three weeks there you can still see his joy and love shining through," he wrote.

The post has since been flooded with tributes from fans and fellow actors, including Richard E. Grant, who commented: "I am so SO sorry for the incalculable loss of your beloved Ian."

Gelder's Torchwood co-star Burn Gorman added: "Oh Ben. I’m so sorry. Really thinking of you at this sad time and sending so much love."

Gelder will perhaps best be known to fans for his portrayal of Kevan Lannister in the beloved fantasy series Game of Thrones, where he appeared in five separate seasons of the show.

A talented star on the stage and both the small and big screens, Gelder's acting career spanned decades.

From his roles in Torchwood and Doctor Who to appearances in Snatch and The Bill, Gelder undoubtedly entertained and captivated so many of us throughout his career.

In addition to his screen credits, Gelder made notable contributions to the stage, captivating audiences with his performances in productions like The Low Road and Titus Andronicus.

Darren Kent, an actor notable for his work in Game of Thrones and British soap opera Eastenders, has sadly passed away aged 36.

Kent's appearance in Game of Thrones came in 2014 when he portrayed the role of a grieving father named Goatherd, who embarked on a journey to present his deceased child to Daenerys Targaryen, also known as the Mother of Dragons, played by Emilia Clarke.

Alongside this, his versatile talent was evident in his roles on EastEnders, the TV mini-series Les Misérables, and the recent ITV drama titled Malpractice.

Additionally, he made a fleeting appearance in the film Dungeons And Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, which hit our screens earlier this year.

The news of Kent's passing was shared by his agency, Carey Dodd Associates, through a heartfelt post on social media.

The agency stated: "It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time."

The agency continued to express their admiration for Kent's character: "Darren was not only a talented actor, director and writer, he was truly one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. It has been a privilege and pleasure to have been a part of his journey. RIP my friend."

While the exact cause of his sudden passing remains undisclosed, tributes from Kent's colleagues and friends have been pouring in.

Screenwriter Ben Trebilcook said: "Love and thoughts to the friends and family of our talented, caring soul of a friend, Darren Kent, who sadly passed away on Friday. Darren, an Essex writer, actor, and director, directed our award-winning short You Know Me. A true character who was always creating and forever upbeat and encouraging, Darren will be sorely missed."

Gogglebox star Sandi Bogle, who shared the screen with Kent in a 2019 short film, expressed her deep sorrow: "My heart is broken, my long-time amazing, wonderful great friend Darren Kent has passed away. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. He is one of God's beautiful Angels; he will be truly missed."

Writer-director Jane Gull reminisced about their collaboration over the years, posting on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, "What a privilege it was to be your friend and to work together on so many projects over the years. Life won't be the same without you. I will miss you so much. RIP darling Darren Kent."

Born in Essex and characterized by his distinctive London accent, Kent's passion for acting led him to graduate from the Italia Conti drama school in 2007.

He made his cinematic debut in the 2008 horror film Mirrors, sharing the screen with Kiefer Sutherland. Kent's talent was recognized and celebrated with the best actor award at the Van D'or Awards in 2012, bestowed upon him for his portrayal of the character Danny in the short film Sunnyboy.
