"With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh," the statement read. "His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home. There will be a private cremation for family & close friends soon & a celebratory memorial later in the year."

Expressing deep grief, Ed Scott - a close friend of MacIntosh and CEO of Dodged A Bullet Music - also shared a poignant tribute about the cherished actor.

While MacIntosh's portrayal of Keith in The Office made him recognizable to millions of fans, Scott emphasized the enduring memory of MacIntosh's personal qualities.

"I am completely devastated by the loss of my very good friend Ewen MacIntosh. He may have had a famous face known by millions as Keith from The Office but the person inside is what I will most remember.

"Ewen was so full of empathy, kindness, and integrity and above all a really good man. "Sending love to his parents Sara and Ewen Sr, his brother Colin and his family, as well as his many friends and fans."

MacIntosh is perhaps best known to fans for his role as Keith Bishop in the hit British sitcom The Office - written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

Despite not having many lines through the show's two seasons, he left an indelible mark on the world of comedy with his portrayal of the lovable but socially awkward office worker, "Big" Keith.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, MacIntosh began his acting career in the early 2000s, landing his breakout role in The Office alongside comedy giants like Gervais and Martin Freeman.

After becoming a fan favorite on the show, MacIntosh would often make appearances throughout the country - hosting events themed on the hit sitcom.

Beyond his work on The Office, MacIntosh continued to pursue acting across various mediums, including film, television, and theater. His iconic voice also led to multiple voiceover gigs.

Our thoughts go out to MacIntosh's family, friends, and fans at this time.
