Vanessa Bryant has settled her wrongful death lawsuit against the company that owned the helicopter which carried her late husband Kobe and daughter Gianna when it crashed.

In January 2020, Vanessa suffered unimaginable heartbreak after losing her husband, NBA legend Kobe Bryant, and their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna in a fatal crash in Calabasas. An additional seven people including the helicopter pilot died in the tragic accident on January 23.

The following month, the 39-year-old widow launched a lawsuit in which she held the helicopter firm responsible for the deaths.

Over a year later, Vanessa has agreed to end the suit, however, the terms of the settlement are confidential, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The court document filed on Tuesday in federal court in Los Angeles read, per Deadline: "The material terms of the settlement and releases are known to the settling parties and include that the terms of the settlement are confidential."

It continued: "The settling parties are currently finalizing settlement documents, which include the necessary documentation for approving compromise of the minors’ claims."

According to Variety, the group traveling in the helicopter were on their way to the Mamba Sports Academy for basketball practice in nearby Thousand Oaks.

Helicopter owners Island Express Helicopters and the estate of the pilot, Ara Zobayan, were named as defendants in the filing.

The suit claimed that that the pilot had failed to properly assess the weather conditions on the day of the tragedy. It is believed that Zobayan was forced to navigate through the dense fog that limited visibility and should have been aware of the risks.

Vanessa reached the settlement with the three families whose loved ones also lost their lives in the crash.

Per The Sun, the former model is currently in the middle of a separate lawsuit against the LA County Sheriff's Department which she launched in September last year over photos deputies had taken and shared of the crash site.

She claimed some individuals in the LASD shared a number of horrific and unauthorized photos of the accident site. The county has argued against the claims in the lawsuit.
