Popular YouTuber Paul Harrell has sadly announced his own death in a heartbreaking video on his channel.

Harrell, a popular YouTube content creator known for his firearms expertise, has passed away at the age of 58.

His YouTube channel largely centered around firearms, where Harrell would pass on his expertise to viewers.

The channel was a platform for him to share his knowledge on firearms, gun safety, and accurate shooting, while also advocating for gun owner rights.

Harrell, who had over 1.13 million subscribers, announced his own death in a pre-recorded YouTube video titled "I'm Dead."

"If you're watching me, I'm dead," Harrell said in the video, which was recorded on December 20, 2023, and posted by his family after his death on Tuesday.

Sitting in a forest, the same location where he had previously revealed his Stage 2 pancreatic cancer diagnosis, Harrell detailed his health struggles.

Despite initially assuring fans that his cancer had been caught early, he explained that it had spread faster than expected.

"We did catch it early but not as early as I had thought," he confessed. "It has spread faster than I thought it would. My time is drawing very short."

Harrell revealed that his use of crutches, which fans believed was due to a hip injury, was actually caused by his cancer spreading to his bones, causing them to "crumble" and his hip to fracture.

In a heartfelt moment, Harrell expressed guilt over his illness and offered an apology to his community.

"I had hoped that I would continue in this format for the next 10 or even 15 years," he said.

"Even once I was diagnosed I'd hoped that we'd be here for at least two or three more years, and that's turned out to be only a few more months. My apologies for that. It makes me feel like I've let everybody down."

Although Harrell's role on his channel has come to an end, he revealed that his brother and the rest of his production team would continue his legacy.

Brad Nelson, Harrell's editor and manager, shared his own tribute at the end of the video.

"I had the great privilege of having Paul in my life and having him as a friend," he said. "He is very generous and a kind guy and he told the best campfire stories."

The video was met with an outpouring of tributes and grief from his devoted fan base, who took to the comments section to express their admiration for the beloved YouTuber.

"Even beyond the grave, the sense of humor is dark but appropriate," one fan commented. "We'll miss you, Paul."

"This is the worst notification I've ever gotten," another wrote. "RIP Paul."

"Paul Harrell is the only man humble enough to apologize for dying. The world won't be the same without him," another person added.

Our thoughts are with Harrell's loved ones at this difficult time.
