A female DoorDash driver took to social media to show her followers the lengths she goes to in order to feel safe while completing deliveries.
Taking to TikTok, Tia AKA @tiazakher posted a video of herself wearing a stereotypically "male" outfit in order to hide her identity as a woman out of fear.
In the 11-second clip, she showed off a full outfit consisting of straight-leg cuffed joggers with a plain, oversized jacket paired with a cap and hood.
Tia completed the look with a mask to cover the bottom half of her face.
Have a look below:In the overlay, Tia wrote: "POV: [You're] scared to deliver orders at night alone but you make more money at night so you dress up as a man."
The video was viewed over 260,000 times and many social media users took to the comments to express their opinions on the matter.
The majority of men seemed to focus on praising the TikToker for her efforts.
"Respect the hustle king," commented one user while another added: "Good job bro."
A third even described the look as "very convincing."
However, it seemed as though a lot of women were being more empathetic with her instead.
"Girl anything but stay safe," this user wrote.
"Me walking to getting groceries at night," another said, clearly experiencing similar fears.
And this user stated that she always "worries" when seeing "women delivery drivers", adding that she "tips extra."
Others even dropped a few other tips to make the look even more convincing for customers.
This isn't the first time we've seen women take precautions to protect themselves.
Last month, women took the video-sharing platform to reveal that they were taking extra clothes with them on public transport to avoid unwanted attention for their choice of outfits.
While the weather is heating up, many women have revealed they are wearing larger, more modest overshirts on top of their actual outfits to avoid creepy stares or potential predators.
User @ideal.grace shared a short clip of her in her subway shirt, writing: "It’s 85F in NYC so ladies don’t forget to bring your subway shirt! Otherwise known as an outfit dampener, it’s an oversized shirt we wear over our cute outfits so strange men don’t bother you on the train."
"Stay safe out there," she added.
Another user who goes by @rae.hersey also shared a similar clip showing her taking off a large white formal shirt to reveal a black top with cutout detailing when she had arrived to her location.
In overlay text on the video she stated: "When you arrive at your destination and can take off your subway shirt," also adding in the caption: "Just know if you see me in a white button down, the real fit is underneath."
And again, in the comments of these videos, a lot of other women empathized with their female counterparts expressing their sadness at the need to take precautions.
It really is a tough world out there. Stay safe, girlies!
