President Trump walked out of his recent 60 Minutes interview after he was asked "tough questions" by interviewer Lesley Stahl.

Introducing the interview, Stahl said that the show's crew had come "prepared to talk about the many issues and questions facing the president", but their conversation ended "contentiously" in what has become "an all-too-public dust-up".

Stahl opened her interview by asking: "Are you ready for some tough questions?"

But instead of accepting the potential challenge posed by the tough questions, Trump said: "You're gonna be fair."

Watch the moment Trump walked out below:

Stahl asked Trump if he was "okay with tough questions", and the president said that he wasn't because his rival Joe Biden was not receiving enough of them and therefore he shouldn't be subject to them.

Trump later took to Twitter to defend walking out, accusing 60 Minutes and CBS of "bias, hatred, and rudeness".

Despite Stahl bringing up the pandemic, racial bias, and looting, Trump said his administration has done a "great job" over the past four years.

Trump explained that the US has "turned a corner" when it comes to tackling the pandemic and said that a new health plan was going to be "announced very soon" before accusing the Democratic party of spying on his campaign.

When Stahl brought up the president's use of social media, he said that there was "no way of getting out [his] voice" without it and slammed media outlets for "discrediting" themselves.

Stahl then said she didn't want her interaction with Trump to be an "angry" one.

Trump argued that "of course [she] did", and added: "You brought up a lot of subjects that were inappropriately brought up."

He continued: "Your first statement was, 'Are you ready for tough questions? That's no way to talk. That's no way to talk."

A producer then interrupted the interview to inform Stahl about how much time she had left to interview the president, and Trump ended the interview, saying: "I think we have enough of an interview here… Okay? That's enough. Let's go."

Stahl said there were a "lot of questions [she] didn't ask", and after waiting some time to see if Trump would return to answer them, she turned her attention to Mike Pence, who she was interviewing next.

Pence described Trump as "a man who speaks his mind", and said that he wasn't focused on "the back and forth with the media."

The interviews are scheduled to air this Sunday alongside interviews with Biden and Kamala Harris.
