Former Miss Ukraine has swapped her ballgown and tiara for army boots and an assault rifle, as she prepares to defend her nation from invading Russian forces.

Per The Sun, in an Instagram story post on Saturday, Anastasia Lenna vowed that "everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed." She also shared a photo of armed soldiers blocking a roadway.

Lenna represented her country in the 2015 Miss Grand International beauty contest. In another post, she made it clear to her 202,000 followers that her threat to invading soldiers was more than just empty words.

The model shared a snap of herself geared up to fight in combat clothes and a rifle with the hashtags "#standwithukraine" and "#handsoffukraine".

Elsewhere on her Instagram, Lenna called on her fellow Ukrainians to foil invading troops by removing road signs, therefore making it harder for them to navigate through the country.

A translation of her post reads: "Dismantling road signs on all roads of the country. The enemy has a pathetic connection, they don't orientate the terrain.

"Let's help them go straight to hell. The State Road Agency of Ukraine calls on all road organizations, territorial communities, local authorities to immediately start dismantling road signs nearby."

She also posted a photo of soldiers walking alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, calling him a "true and strong leader."

As well as being a pageant queen, Lenna is a marketing management graduate from Slavistic University in Kyiv. She's worked as a model, a public relations manager, and - thanks to being fluent in five languages - a translater.

But faced with the threat of Russian invasion, Lenna has given all that up to defend her country.

The pageant winner is no stranger to wielding a firearm and often posts snaps of herself shooting and hunting in the forests or at indoor training grounds. Now she appears to be putting her combat training to use in the fight against aggressive Russian troops.

Following an announcement by President Putin, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine last week. On Sunday, Zelensky made an appeal to the world and to Russia to end the violence after Russian forces bombarded residential areas.

In a recent update, the two nations will supposedly meet for peace talks on the Belarusian border, The Independent reports.
