An investigation has found that a married teacher engaged in "sexual misconduct" with at least five students at a school in South Africa.

The incidents are said to have taken place between 2013 and 2019 and allegedly involved Fiona Viotti, 30, sleeping with students and sending them explicit material - some of which made its way onto social media and the adult website PornHub, News24 reported.

The history teacher, who was also a water polo coach at the Bishops Diocesan College in Cape Town, resigned once allegations surrounding her and an 18-year-old student came to light in October.

Prior to beginning her career in education, Viotti was a model and teen water polo star - appearing in the 2009 South African Sports Illustrated as one of the "Beauties of Sport".

The findings of the investigation were made public on Monday, however, the school principal, Guy Pearson said they were unable to take disciplinary action against the 30-year-old because of her resignation.

Carried out by independent lawyers, it involved interviewing dozens of staff, pupils and parents.

Viotti, whose grandfather was the school principal from 1964 to 1982, is said to have refused to be interviewed about the incident.

Viotti's lawyer William Booth, revealed to the Times that the 30-year-old was in a "fragile state" after videos of her were uploaded to PornHub without her consent. They have now been removed from the website.

"She was in no position to make a statement and this is not a criminal matter," he said.

All of the students involved were over 16, which is the age of consent in South Africa, and no criminal charges have been filed at this time.

"As a school we are deeply saddened by these events and remain committed to ensuring the mental health and wellbeing of those affected," Principal Pearson said in a statement.

Viotti was married for a year, but it is being reported that she has since separated from her husband.
