Ghislaine Maxwell has recently claimed that the infamous photograph of Prince Andrew standing next to Virginia Giuffre is fake.

In a new video interview set to premiere today (January 23), Maxwell talks of the authenticity of the snapshot from the Florida prison where she is serving a 20-year sentence for her part in sex trafficking young girls to convicted pedophile Jeffery Epstein.

The former British socialite re-emphasized that she believes the photograph of the Duke of York standing with his arm around the waist of 17-year-old Giuffre is not real as there has "never been an original."

"I don’t believe it’s real for a second," she told TalkTV. "Well, there’s never been an original and further there’s no photograph, and I’ve only ever seen a photocopy of it," she added.

According to the Guardian, the interview was conducted back in August by journalist, Daphne Barak and though some clips of it were shown earlier, a fuller version of the conversation is set to premiere later tonight in the United Kingdom.

The news comes shortly after it was reported that Andrew is seeking to overturn the settlement he previously made with Giuffre.

The now 39-year-old accused the Duke of York of sexual assault though he heavily denied the accusations, also adding that he doesn't even remember meeting her despite there being photo evidence of them standing together - the photo Maxwell has claimed is doctored.

In February last year, the pair reached an out-of-court agreement stating that Andrew would pay Giuffre a reported £3 million ($3.7 million) to cover damages and also provide a donation to her charity "in support of victims’ rights."

However, a source has claimed to The Sun that "he never wanted to make a deal and has always insisted he is innocent" before adding: "I can tell you with confidence that the Prince Andrew team is now considering legal options."

Per the Independent, Andrew is now weighing up a legal bid to overturn the multimillion-pound settlement reached with the alleged victim and even force an apology.

Reports also added that if the Duke manages to win, he could be offered his royal title back, as well as return to his duties as part of the British Royal Family.

Andrew initially stepped back from his duties in 2019 amid public scrutiny of his relationship with Epstein.

The late Queen Elizabeth II stripped the Duke of all his military titles as well as his royal patronages over the sexual abuse case brought against him by Giuffre.

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old has always stuck to her claim about Andrew, stating that her goal has been "to show the rich and powerful are not above the law and should be held accountable."
