A healthy man reportedly died suddenly in his sleep merely days before his 22nd birthday, and his family has expressed their heartbreak.
Rickson "Ricko" Williams, 21, went to bed as normal on January 11 but tragically, he never woke up.
While his cause of death remains unknown, Rickson's family believes that it could be due to an undiagnosed heart condition after they were informed he had an enlarged heart, per the Mirror.
Rickson, from Wallaville, Queensland, Australia, was set to start a BA course in music, with family and friends describing him as "the life of the party."
His heartbroken mother Tanya Wright shared a devastating post on Facebook the day after her son passed. A segment of it read: "Anyone who knew us, knew how much Rickson meant to us and how much this loss will affect our lives and our family."
Tanya continued: "Please respect our privacy at this very difficult time as we grieve our son, brother, cousin, nephew, dear friend."
The heartbroken mother launched a GoFundMe page in order to help with the financial costs of Rickson's funeral, alongside supporting the family in their grief.
"As our family tries to find a way through this heartbreaking, difficult time, I would just like to reach out to our amazing community, loving family, and amazing friends for your support," Tanya said on the fundraising page.
The post continued: "He was a passionate gardener, motorbike rider and music maker among many other hobbies. He had come a tremendously long way from the difficulties he faced only a few short years ago.
"He loved life, and always wanted to be the life of the party, even when there was no party."
Rickson would have turned 22 on January 17, and his mother shared her pain on Facebook: "Today you would have been 22, although I think you'd prefer we remember you as 21 forever, either way Happy Birthday in heaven my beautiful boy."
Rickson's funeral will be taking place tomorrow (February 3), and Tanya has expressed her gratitude for the love she has received from family and friends as she navigates her way through the grief of losing her son.
