A mom and baby were found dead in Dublin on Saturday afternoon.
According to a report by Dublin Live, Kate Donohoe and seven-month-old Vincent were discovered in an upstairs bedroom on Saturday afternoon by local police, or Gardaí.
A note later found in the same room has led to investigators treating the deaths as a murder-suicide.
In an official statement, a garda spokesman described the circumstances leading up to their discovery.
"Shortly after 3PM today, Gardaí and emergency services attended at a house in the Beechfield area of (Clonee) Dublin," they said, per Metro.
"A female adult (40s) and a baby boy were discovered inside the house deceased. They were both pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. Their bodies remain at scene which is preserved for forensic and technical examination," the statement continued.
They went on to say that an upcoming post-mortem will determine investigators' next move.
"The local Coroner and office of the State Pathologist have been notified. A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to liaise with the family. The outcomes of a post-mortem examination will determine the course Garda investigations into both deaths," the statement concluded.

Further details about the contents of the note have not yet been disclosed. Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths, per Independent.ie.
According to the outlet, investigators are working on the assumption that the deaths were pre-planned.
Meanwhile, tributes for Donohoe have poured in. Meath Dog Shelter - an animal sanctuary where the mom volunteered her services - said they were "deeply saddened" by the loss.

Meath Dog Shelter said in a social media statement: "We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the loss of Kate and her son. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, her friends, and those in the community affected by her passing. Rest in peace."
Former Solidarity TD for Dublin West Ruth Coppinger also expressed her sadness over the tragic passing.
"On top of the trauma in Donegal, now have juts heard this tragedy in my own local area." she wrote on social media, adding: "A woman and baby found dead in Beechfield, Clonee. Heartbreaking. Just want to send my sympathies to all their family and friends.”
