Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi have made history.
The Vice President and Speaker of the United States House of Representatives became the first two women to ever sit behind the president during his speech to Congress.
In fact, President Joe Biden used his first line of his speech to acknowledge the historical moment sitting behind him.
Greeting the pair, Biden said: "Thank you, Madame Speaker and Madame Vice President.m No other President has ever said those words from this podium… and it’s about time."
It's not only the first time two women held both positions, but Harris is the first woman of color to sit in either position behind the president.
Harris and Pelosi also kicked the night off with yet another historic moment - an elbow-bump hello.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, the pair could not share a traditional handshake, but still managed to find an entertaining way to greet one another.
This was Biden's first prime-time speech to a joint session of Congress.
When asked about the significance of two women sitting behind the President for the address, Harris replied, "Normal," to reporters in the Capitol as she led the Senate delegation to the House chamber.
Ahead of the speech, Pelosi appeared on MSNBC earlier Wednesday.

She said on Andrea Mitchell Reports: "It's pretty exciting. And it's wonderful to make history. It's about time.
"I made history when I was the first speaker to be standing behind President Bush. And he made note of that. Now this is just so exciting."
Pelosi first made history back in 2007 when she became the first woman to serve as speaker of the House.
She again made history in January 2019 after regaining her position as speaker — which is second in line to succeed the president — as the first person to do so in more than 60 years.
Harris is no stranger to making history herself, becoming the first woman vice president, as well as the first Black person and first person of Asian descent to hold the office.
