An Australian Miss Universe finalist has sadly died at the age of 23 after the decision was made to turn off her life support machine.

Sienna Weir was one of 27 finalists of the Australian Miss Universe competition in 2022 and was a graduate of Sydney University with a double degree in English literature and psychology.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old was riding her horse at the Windsor Polo Grounds on April 2, when the animal fell, leaving the model severely injured.

She was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and sadly the decision was made to turn off her life support machine and let her pass away peacefully.

The model sat down with Gold Coast Magazine in September where she opened up about her hopes and goals for the future.

"I hope to move to London in the next few years to spend more time with my sister, niece, and nephew and expand both my professional and social network," she said.

Discussing horse riding, Sienna said: "I have a deep and unmoving love for show jumping. My family aren’t quite sure where this passion came from, but I’ve been horse-riding since I was three years old and can’t imagine my life without it. I travel to rural Sydney [two to three] times a week to train and compete around New South Wales or broader Australia every other weekend."

Fans of the model have flooded her final Instagram post with messages of condolence.

One person wrote: "Taken from the world far too soon! RIP Sienna," and a second added: "Rest in Paradise beautiful, so sorry I didn’t get to know you better."

A third said: "As a fellow equestrian, this pains me even more. Rest in Peace."

Her heartbroken partner Tom Bull said: "We loved with a love that was more than love."

Scoop Management, Sienna's modeling agency, penned: "Forever in our hearts."

Fellow model and friend Skye Sutherland wrote: "Today we lost our angel, but heaven has gained her. My sister from another mister. Twinny. BFF. And my all-time favourite. I love you always, and forever. To have called you my best friend has been the greatest privilege of my life. I miss you already. Until we meet again."

Our thoughts are with Sienna's loved ones at this time.
