A mother of two was killed during New Year's celebrations after a firework reportedly got caught in her clothes and exploded before it was able to be removed.
The new year is often celebrated with fireworks, with some opting to go to organized displays in major cities around the globe, and others buying their own to celebrate privately.
The explosives pose health and safety risks to those that operate them and they usually come with strict guidelines about how to use them safely, such as being a safe distance away and never pointing them in the direction of another person.
Elisangela Tinem, 38, was seeing in the new year on a Brazilian beach when a firework reportedly got caught on her clothes, and she tragically died as a result, per the Daily Mail.
A clip has emerged on social media showing the moments leading up to the tragic death on the beach in Praia Grande, Sao Paulo.
The video begins by showing onlookers watching the fireworks in the sky before the camera pans to show a large amount of flashing on the ground followed by an explosion.
The person filming the incident begins running away from the explosions, before turning back to show a body lying motionless on the beach.

A witness spoke to Brazilian news outlet G1 Globo, stating: "When it struck midnight I hugged my mum and then I saw this strong flash. Soon after that, everyone started screaming and when I went to look I saw a woman lying on the ground bleeding.
"By her was a man who was also lying down and then he got up and knelt down beside her (the woman) when he saw her not moving."
The Daily Mail report continues to state that police are now looking into the tragedy as a homicide as it is believed the firework did not belong to the family.
Manslaughter charges are expected to be brought against the individual who lit the rocket if authorities are able to locate the person responsible.

A cousin of Tinem reportedly told authorities that the firework got stuck in her clothes before exploding.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy.
