A mother has expressed her anger after a teacher confiscated her daughter's drawing of a pig after claiming it was "inappropriate" due to the shape of the bow tie.

Children are the embodiment of innocence, so when they utter their first curse word or accidentally draw something rude, it's tough to not find it hilarious.

That being said, it's then often the duty of the parents to instruct a child to not curse despite usually being the reason they know the word in the first place.

But when it comes to drawings, sometimes a rude image can be drawn completely accidentally, and it's in no way the fault of the child.

Check out the inappropriate drawing in question below:

That's exactly what Sierra Carter from Michigan found when her daughter drew an innocent picture of a pig wearing a bow tie, but a teacher took it the wrong way and branded it "inappropriate" while confiscating it.

The 11-year-old displayed artistic technique that most adults would struggle to replicate, but the bow tie caught the teacher's eye as looking like - and there really is no other way of saying this - a penis.

Sierra took to TikTok to reveal her outrage after her daughter was punished for the drawing and that it was even raised to higher authorities in the school.

"I got a phone call from my daughter's teacher - she is in fifth grade, she is 11 years old. Her teacher told me that my daughter had drawn something inappropriate in the art class and that a little boy had come up to her and made her aware that he thought my daughter drew 'boy parts' on her pig project," Sierra began.

"She went over and asked my daughter for all of her papers... My daughter told her teacher straight away that she drew a bow tie.

"But the teacher proceeded to take all of her papers from her and then she said she had to give my daughter's project to the vice principal of the school."

The angered mother then revealed that she was called into the school for a meeting with the teacher and the social worker as the image was branded "offensive", much to Sierra's disbelief who exclaimed: "What the frick?"

Initially, the principal wanted to write up the 11-year-old for the drawing, but after the protestations of her mother agreed that no further punishment would be given, but that the school would keep the drawing on file.

Superintendent John Denney released a statement supporting the teacher, claiming the matter was handled correctly and added that there are "two sides to every story," per the Daily Mail.

Viewers of the video also shared their disbelief, with one person saying: "Glad you stood up for your daughter. That’s 100% a bow tie and she is so innocent. Sad this happened."

A second person added: "I have a 6yr old- and when he draws he draws according to his 6yr old brain and how he thinks it is! There’s NEVER [a] motive behind it"

We think the drawing of the pig is great and, hopefully, Sierra's daughter isn't put off drawing by the incident!
