A photographer has staged an incredible lockdown photoshoot with the help of nursing home patients and recreated iconic album covers.

Some of the albums included were Adele's 21, The Clash's London Calling, and David Bowie's Aladdin Sane.

Listen to one of the residents discuss their involvement in the project below:

The pictures were taken by Robert Speker, who is also an activities coordinator at a care home.

Without any family to keep the residents entertained, his job during lockdown was more important than ever, and he came up with the novel idea of the photoshoot to give the residents something different to do.

Taking to Facebook to reveal the project, Speker wrote: "A little project I did with Sydmar Lodge Residents and carers, recreating classic album covers.

"Residents at the care home have now been in lockdown for 120 days."

Speker, who is the activities director at Sydmar Lodge Care in Edgware, England said that because it could be months before the residents can safely see their families again, he has been doing everything he can to keep them entertained, and most importantly, in high spirits.

In an interview with The Independent, Julia Davey, the manager of the nursing home, said that Speker is "well-known locally" for organizing activities that are "outside of the box".

Check out some of the recreations in all their glory below:

After the pictures were posted to Twitter, they went viral on the platform, with some even calling for the pictures to be turned into a 2021 calendar.

One Twitter user wrote: "2021 calendar! Proceeds to care homes!"

A second remarked: "These are so moving. Reminds me of my 97 year old grandmother telling me that on the inside she was still 18. Beautiful."

Speker created the project with the intent of raising money for Alzheimer's UK and Dementia Friends, and at the time of writing, his target of £2,000 has almost been reached on GoFundMe.
