Obama's most savage burns against Trump during last night's drive-in rally
Former US president Barack Obama did not hold back when criticizing President Trump at last night's drive-in rally in Philadelphia.
During his speech, Obama passionately supported his former vice president's bid for the presidency and criticized his successor for a number of topics including his handling of the ongoing pandemic, the economy, and his use of social media.
Obama also slammed Trump for treating his position as president like a "reality show".
He said that at the end of his presidency, he did not think that Trump would "embrace his vision", but hoped that he would still take his role as commander in chief seriously.

"He hasn't shown any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself and his friends," Obama said. "Or treating the presidency like a reality show that he can use to get attention. And by the way, even then, his TV ratings are down, so you know that upsets him. But the thing is this is not a reality show, this is reality."

Obama then claimed that Trump has a "secret" Chinese bank account and imagined how he'd have been treated if he'd done the same thing.
"How is that possible? A secret Chinese bank account? Can you imagine if I had a secret Chinese bank account when I was running for re-election? Do you think Fox News might've been a little concerned about that? They would've called me 'Beijing Barry'."
This came after it was revealed, per the BBC, that Trump paid $200,000 worth of income tax in China, but just $750 in income taxes in the US in 2016 and 2017.

The former president also took aim at Trump's handling of the US economy and slammed Trump for its deterioration under his leadership, stating that Trump is the "first president since Herbert Hoover to actually lose jobs."
Obama said that Trump took "full credit for the economy that he inherited and zero blame for the pandemic he ignored."

He then made a point of saying that more jobs were created in the Obama administration's final three years than in the first three years of the Trump administration.

Obama concluded his scathing critique of Trump by slamming his past business failures.
"He did inherit the longest streak of job growth in American history, but just like everything else he inherited, he messed it up," Obama said.
The former president then said that the leadership of Biden and Harris would not cause Americans any day-to-day anxiety.
"With Joe and Kamala at the helm, you're not going to have to think about the crazy things they said every day," he said. "And that's worth a lot. You're not going to have to argue about them every day.
"It just won't be so exhausting. You might be able to have a Thanksgiving dinner without having an argument. You'll be able to go about your lives knowing that the president is not going to retweet conspiracy theories."

Obama added that the White House had a plan for tackling a pandemic that was never used by Trump.
"We literally left this White House a pandemic playbook that would have shown them how to respond before the virus reached our shores. They probably used it to, I don't know, prop up a wobbly table somewhere."

Obama then slammed Trump for his behavior as president.
"[With Joe Biden], you're not going to have a president that goes out of his way to insult anybody who doesn't support him or threaten them with jail," he said. "That's not normal presidential behavior.
"We wouldn't tolerate it from a high school principal. We wouldn't tolerate it from a coach. We wouldn't tolerate it from a co-worker."

Obama finally concluded his speech by encouraging people to recognize the consequences of Trump's actions over the past four years.
"They embolden other people to be cruel and divisive and racist, and it frays the fabric of our society," he said. And it affects how our children see things, and it affects the ways our families get along. It affects how the world looks at America. That behavior matters. Character matters."
