A passenger has gone viral after giving an 88-year-old woman his first-class seat to make her "dream" come true.
The heartwarming incident took place onboard a Virgin Atlantic flight to New York and was revealed by Virgin stewardess Leah Amy on Facebook, where it subsequently went viral. The story centers on her new "favorite passengers EVER," Jack and Violet.
As per the New Zeland Herald, the pair struck up "instant friendship" at their unknown origin airport, causing Jack to decide that 88-year-old Violet would enjoy his first-class seat to New York more than him.
This was because Violet had always dreamed of sitting at the front of the plane, and Jack happily made it a reality - swapping his first-class ticket for her economy one.
"[Jack] sat on the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets and never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight," Leah detailed. "No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart, no one asked him to."
I bet you don't get this sort of gross passenger in first class:According to the flight attendant, Violet was a frequent flyer to New York, where her daughter lives, but had been unable to travel for a while because of a knee replacement.
"You should [have] seen her face when I tucked her in her bed after supper," Leah remembered.
Unfortunately, the 88-year-old didn't provide the flight attendant with a phone number or email to pass on the photographs. So, in the meantime, they are doing the rounds on social media before they can be posted to her address.
Needless to say, Facebook users couldn't praise Jack enough, describing him as a "true gentleman" and "wonderful guy."
A spokesperson for Virgin Atlantic told Fox News that it was a "lovely story". Here's hoping that Jack and Violet's path's cross again!
