His passing was first announced by the popular hip-hop podcast, No Jumper, which is hosted by Adam22. "Rapper Slim 400 has reportedly been killed, R.I.P," the tweet that was published today, read.

On Thursday, Slim 400's manager, Mud Dollaz, uploaded a photo of the singer, encouraging him to "pull through."

"Pull thru not tryna hear the Bs I’m hear’n pray for Slim 400," he wrote in the caption, alongside a photo of the star.

Before it was confirmed that Slim 400 had tragically died, videos of the reported crime scene uploaded by fans started making the rounds on social media, and the hashtag #RIPSlim400 started trending on Twitter.

The rapper, whose real name was Vincent Cohran, was born on June 22, 1988, in Frankfurt, Germany, to parents who were in the military. He was notoriously private when it came to his personal life. Although, he reportedly has a young daughter, named Parris, whom he spoke about once on Instagram.

"Been witt her all dayyyy. Wishin my #Parris a Happy Birthday, I do it #4 her Hol’Upppp," he wrote in the caption.

Twitter account for the hip-hop website Passion of Weiss paid tribute to Slim 400, writing: "A Compton gangsta rap prototype, an ambassador for a tradition, lineage, and history — who made a whole lot of hard-as-hell rap songs full of sober gravity and blunt force."

He once managed to escape death back in 2009 when he was reportedly "ambushed" and shot at nine times while visiting his relatives in Compton, as reported by the New York Post. "I just feel like when you meant to be here and God have a plan for you, it ain't no stoppin' it," he said in a radio interview at the time.

"I hit the ground thinking it was over. My family came out, kept me alive, talking to me, dragging me in the house while they still shooting … My family, love her to death for just saving me. I just feel like I’m blessed just to be here ’cause I could have just died then and there."

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans at this time.
