Rupert Murdoch allegedly sent his ex-wife Jerry Hall a 33-word email when he requested a divorce following six years of marriage.
The famed 92-year-old media mogul married former supermodel Hall back in March 2016 - just days before he turned 85.
However, in June of last year, it was reported that the couple had decided to call time on their relationship, with Hall citing "irreconcilable differences" in a July 1 filing.
Fortunately, the divorce proceedings were not lengthy and drawn out, and the marriage was officially ended just a month later.
Now, journalist Gabriel Sherman has claimed that Murdoch requested an end to his marriage via an email he sent Hall, now 66, as she prepared to meet her then-husband at their Oxfordshire mansion last year.
In an article published in Vanity Fair, Sherman claims that Murdoch sent Hall a 33-word email that read: "Jerry, sadly I’ve decided to call an end to our marriage. We have certainly had some good times, but I have much to do … My New York lawyer will be contacting yours immediately."
Which, if true, may be one of the coldest break-up stories we've ever heard.
Sherman - who has spent years researching and writing about the Murdoch business - adds that Hall's friends say she was left "devastated, mad and humiliated" by her ex-husband's alleged actions, despite the pair publicly claiming to still be good friends.
The journalist goes on to claim that one of the terms of the couple's separation was that Hall could not pass on story ideas to the writers of the hit HBO series Succession - which Metro reports "has long been rumored to be inspired by the Murdoch family".
Additionally, Hall was reportedly given just 30 days to move out of the Bel Air estate - and was allegedly made to show receipts for items that she said belonged to her.
After settling into her Oxfordshire home - which she received in the divorce - she noticed surveillance cameras were allegedly still sending footage back to Murdoch's Fox headquarters. As a result, Hall's former lover, Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, sent a member of his security team over to disable them.
Earlier this year, Murdoch reportedly proposed to Ann Lesley Smith - but The Independent has since reported that the couple has called off their engagement.
