One month after news broke that Good Morning America co-anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach were allegedly having an affair, Holmes has reportedly ended his 12-year marriage.
The 45-year-old journalist - who has anchored GMA alongside Robach, 49, since 2020 - filed for divorce from his immigration attorney wife Marilee Fiebig. The pair have been married since 2010, and share nine-year-old daughtetogether. Holmes also has two other children from a previous marriage.
News of his alleged affair with Robach broke on November 30, when tabloid newspaper The Daily Mail published images of the pair cozying up in a bar and holding hands in an Uber while on a "romantic weekend" in New York.
The exclusive report claimed that the co-anchors had struck up an intimate relationship while covering the late Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee in London in June this year.
While Holmes and Robach have not confirmed their romance, their return to their jobs as co-anchors on GMA the week the news broke was certainly awkward. Holmes had teased on air that it had been "a great week," to which Robach replied: "Speak for yourself," per E! Online. Just days later, the duo was placed on a break pending an internal review.
Over Christmas, Holmes and Robach were also spotted arm in arm at an airport in Atlanta on December 26, fuelling further rumors of them being in a relationship.
In 2020 Holmes celebrated his 10-year anniversary with his wife, posting on Facebook: "10 years ago, Marilee Fiebig married me. And despite my best efforts, she remained married to me the past 10 years. That's not hyperbole. I'm not being dramatic. I gave her plenty of reasons, excuses, and opportunities to walk her fine ass out the doooooooor."
He continued: "Asking her for another 10 years would be too much. Another 10 months? That may even be a stretch. If she gave me another 10 weeks, I should consider myself lucky."
Fiebig has not spoken publicly about the scandal, though is said to have been "blind-sided" by his alleged affair. An investigation into the incident by ABC claimed that Holmes has also had several other affairs with female staffers, allegedly including married producer Natasha Singh. Robach and her husband Andrew Shue's divorce is almost finalized, according to News.com.au.
