Scientists have created the "perfect human body" and it looks like a thing that you'd see in your nightmares.
A lot of people will spend hours in the gym each day as they strive to better themselves both physically and mentally, but it turns out that no human can ever obtain the "perfect" body.
But if you've ever wondered what the human body would look like in peak physical condition then look no further, because scientists have done the work.
A team of anatomists led by Dr. Alice Roberts revealed a jaw-dropping creation during BBC Four's Can Science Make Me Perfect in 2018.
Roberts, in the final stages of her unique experiment, proudly presented the mock-up body, affectionately dubbed "Alice 2.0" by the show.
The surreal figure featured shock-absorbing emu legs, a baby's head protruding from its stomach, and an array of bizarre modifications that seemed more fitting for a horror movie.
Before the grand unveiling, Roberts expressed her excitement about the project, describing it as "an extraordinary journey." As the live audience eagerly awaited the revelation, a countdown ensued, ending in a scream from Roberts and mixed reactions of repulsion from the crowd. Laughter erupted as the figure resembled a real-life Avatar character holding an iPhone.
Expressing her reluctance to face her supposedly perfect self, Roberts commented on the strangest feature – a baby positioned in the stomach, added to symbolize pain-free childbirth.
"The baby's the weirdest thing. That is the weirdest thing, but it's very cute at the same time," she remarked.
A slow-motion pan around Alice 2.0 accompanied by dramatic music highlighted the oddities of the figure, providing additional reasons for viewers to watch the unsettling video.
Roberts explained the peculiar features of her creation, stating that Alice 2.0 boasts "a chimp's sturdy lower back" to counter the flaws in the human transition to standing upright.
The figure also sports emu-like shock-absorbing legs and 'tiny pumps' in her thighs for improved blood circulation. Notably, beneath her breastless chest lies "the reliable heart of a dog and the graceful lungs of a swan."
Roberts mentioned the inclusion of a neck with a 'choke-proof windpipe' for maximum fighting potential.
The overall effect left audiences torn between fascination and unease, because let's be honest, it is very creepy.
In case these body changes aren't for you, you could perhaps follow in the footsteps of Bryan Johnson who insists that he's found a way to "de-age" himself.
Johnson is a software developer from Venice, California, who hit the jackpot in his 30s when he sold his incredibly successful payment processing company, Braintree Payment Solutions, to eBay for an eye-watering $800 million.
He is now utilizing his wealth for a unique retirement plan - spending over $2 million annually in an endeavor to possess the body of an 18-year-old, despite being 45.
This ambitious pursuit is supported by a team of more than 30 doctors and health experts who rigorously monitor Johnson's daily activities, all to rejuvenate his organs to an 18-year-old state.
In an interview with Bloomberg News, Johnson disclosed that his lifestyle has seemingly granted him the heart of a 37-year-old, the skin of a 28-year-old, and the lung capacity and fitness typical of an 18-year-old.
His routine includes a strict vegan diet, consuming 1,977 calories daily, one hour of exercise per day, high-intensity workouts three times a week, and maintaining a consistent bedtime.
He also explored the possibility of trigenerational blood transfusions from his son...
Maybe it's best to be happy with the body that we have.
