A serial cop spitter has been found guilty of assault after spitting, kicking, and slapping four police officers in July of last year, and causing bodily harm to another man this February.
Twenty-one-year-old indigenous activist Leilani Clarke has already been convicted of five offenses against officers, having previously been found guilty of kneeing an officer in the testicles, calling police "white dogs" and calling a policewoman a "white c***".
Clarke was charged with four counts of assault an officer in the execution of duty, resisting or hindering police in the execution of duty, and affray using unlawful violence to cause a person to have fear for their safety.
Shoppers tackled this man who started coughing and spitting on food grocery store:The February incident took place on the second of the month between 12.30 am and 3 am in Redfern, New South Wales, when Clarke used violence that caused a man to fear for his safety.
The court heard that the 21-year-old, who is out on bail, has recently lost her place of residence and is staying at a friend’s place which "is keeping her off the streets for now."
Magistrate Erin Kennedy told the court that Clarke's current living situation is "concerning".
"We'll only see more offending and she'll end up in custody. That's where we're going," Kennedy said.
Kennedy told Clarke "I am not setting you up to fail" and ordered Justice Health to provide a mental health report.
News.com.au has cited a police fact report that revealed during the first incident, Clarke was witnessed punching a young woman she passed in Redfern in the early hours of July 27.
Clarke, who campaigns online against "white colonial oppression", reportedly attacked the 22-year-old woman "unprovoked".
When her and the woman's "paths crossed… the accused punched [her] several times in the head" while the victim was "bent over at the waist with the accused holding her hair, punching her… in an unprovoked attack. No words were exchanged".
At the point of police intervention, Clarke "kept rambling 'I don't know what happened. I just want to go… yes, I am drunk in a public place'."
Clarke was then informed that she'd broken bail conditions on an unrelated charge, and when a female officer tried to handcuff her, she "swung a punch" but missed.
During this process "the accused was making a snorting noise then proceeded to spit saliva" at the female constable "landed on her pants".
Clarke was then dragged to a police caged paddy wagon, kicking another police officer twice.
Further incidents took place at the police station which were recorded on CCTV.
The 21-year-old was placed in time out "due to the level of intoxication", and released on bail on the condition that she refrained from drinking alcohol and attend the Kirkton Road Centre clinic.
