Singer YK Osiris might be paying for the funeral of 14-year-old Tyre Sampson, who fell to his death from an Orlando theme park ride last month.

According to a report by TMZ, YK is "in talks" with Sampson's family about covering the funeral expenses. The Florida singer added that he would like to attend the funeral if the family are happy to have him.

Sampson slipped out of his seat and dropped to the ground while riding the 430 ft FreeFall ride at ICON Park on March 24.

In a terrifying clip of the accident that has since been shared on social media, the Missouri teen can be seen falling out of his harness when the free-fall ride is halfway down its descent. He was in Orlando with his football team for spring break when the fatal accident occurred.

Since then, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has launched an investigation into what happened. Meanwhile, ICON park has closed the ride until it can be ascertained exactly what went wrong.

YK reportedly told TMZ that he decided to get involved in Sampson's funeral arrangements because he felt that the amusement park was not acting fast enough to give his family the answers they deserved. The singer added that he wanted to make something happen for the grieving family who are suffering so much.

An incident report seen by CNN and sent to FDACS states that Sampson was properly locked into his seat. However, the latest reports indicate that the teen perhaps shouldn't have been allowed on the ride in the first place as he was over the weight and height limit for the attraction.

According to the ride's manual, the maximum weight for passengers is 287 pounds. Tyre's dad Yarnell Sampson told Fox 35 News that his son was 6'5'' and weighed around 340 pounds, putting him well over the limit.

"Be careful when seeing if large guests fit into the seats. Check that they fit within the contours of the seat and that the bracket fits properly. If this is not so, do not let this person ride," reads the manual per CNN.
