Stephen "tWitch" Boss's wife has paid tribute to the late star following news of his death aged 40.

In a statement to PEOPLE, his wife Allison Holker Boss confirmed his tragic death just days after the pair celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary, telling the outlet that she's delivering the news with the "heaviest of hearts."

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us," the 34-year-old said.

"Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans."

She continued: "To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt," she continued. "I am certain there won't be a day that goes by that we won't honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children."

"Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you," Allison concluded the emotional statement.

The news comes after sources claimed that the Ellen Show star had died by suicide after being found in a hotel in Los Angeles.

According to reports from TMZ, law enforcement sources claim Boss's wife, Allison Holker, ran to an LAPD station on Tuesday over fears for her husband.

Sources claim she was 'frantic' after finding he had left home without his car, which was out of character for him.

Police were reportedly called to a hotel in Los Angeles a short time after Holker's report, where Boss had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He and Holker, who share three children, had celebrated nine years of marriage on Sunday, just days before his tragic death.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.
