A teacher who discovered students socializing in a park told them that she hopes they die a "long, painful death" from coronavirus, the Washington Times has reported.

According to The Trentonian, the woman has since been identified as, Nicole Griggs, a maths teacher at Steinert High School in Hamilton Township.

One of the pupils involved in the incident, a freshman, said that the public school teacher shouted at them from behind a fence while he played with his friends on Thursday on East Franklin Street.

The encounter was filmed by another student present and uploaded to TikTok with the caption:  "Y'all Mrs. Griggs is losing her damn mind how tf is she a teacher #coronavirus."

"Am I screaming loud enough that you can hear me over her music? Parks closed. You will get arrested if the cops come," Griggs said in the video above.

Aggravating the teacher, one of the teens asks: "Wait, can we go over there?"

"Park's closed! The whole area," she says. "Get it through your thick head! You are the reason we are in this situation. You are the problem, not the solution. Go ahead, keep recording. Who are you going to show it to? Post me on social media!

"You're the idiot doing the wrong thing. I'm just trying to save your ass and save your life. But die, OK. I hope both of you get the coronavirus. I hope you both die a long, painful death!"

One of the pupils involved in the incident said that a cop showed up and asked the teens to leave.

"When she said that, I was shocked," he said, recalling the teacher's actions. "I didn't know someone would say something like that, especially a teacher. She should be smarter with her words."

The teacher's actions were slammed by social media users too.

One Twitter user wrote: "Hey Karen, if they are in violation, then so are you!"

Another remarked: "An example of why a loving parent should NEVER NEVER NEVER send their children to public schools aka government indoctrination centers."

A third wrote: "Clearly she's suffering from Coronavirus Derangement Syndrome, or CDS."

This, however, is not the first time that the teacher has slammed people for failing to follow social distancing guidelines.

The Trentonian, reports that under an alias Griggs uses for social media, she wrote on Facebook: "We are surrounded by idiots!!!!!! Rode our bikes near Kuser Park this afternoon and what to [sic] we see but a younger couple with their daughter maybe 2/3 years old UNDOING the caution tape around the jungle gym so she could slide."

Per the John Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, at the time of writing, there have been 2,995,456 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus worldwide, and a global death toll of 207,583.
