A woman recently sparked a debate online after she called out a bridal store for adding a tip when she was purchasing her wedding dress.

In a video addressing the "weirdest places you've been asked to tip", TikTok user Ina Josipović opened up about the time she was asked to tip when purchasing her wedding dress with her best friend.

"Can we talk about tipping culture and the weirdest place that you’ve ever been asked to tip really quick?" Ina started in the two minute clip. "I went shopping for my wedding dress a week and a half ago, and I ended up finding my dress at the first store that I went to.

"And I’m not joking, when I went to go pay, they flipped their little iPad around and asked for a tip," she continued, expressing her shock at their request. "When I tell you I full on froze, I just... I stood there and I think they saw the blood leave my body."

Ina then explained that due to her shock, she "kind of just stood there" but then turned to her best friend for a bit of help.

"And luckily, I speak a different language, and my best friend bought a wedding dress at a different store sometime last year, so in a different language I looked at her and I said, 'Hey, did you tip when you bought your wedding dress?'

"And she was like, 'No'. And then I was like, 'Did they ask you to tip?' And she said 'No' [again]."

She then explained how she found the entire thing strange: "...I don't think you're supposed to be tipping when you're buying a wedding dress... because the dress is already pretty expensive."

Ina went on to do some calculations just to show how much she was expected to pay stating that a "10 percent tip on a $2000 dress is like an extra $200 and if the dress is even more then you're paying a couple hundred dollars..."

She also added that while she wanted to tip something around the $50 mark, she thought it was "too embarassing" to do so.

"...Nobody was tipping me at a retail store. I don’t know. Tipping is kind of weird lately," she concluded the video.

Of course, hundreds of social media users gathered in the comment section to discuss the issue, with many also agreeing that it was pretty "crazy" to make someone tip at a bridal store.

"I literally have no shame just pressing no tip," wrote one user.

"I am a bridal stylist and I agree 10% is crazy for a tip," another added. "I will say though our appts are 2 hours long and we have to maintain energy and provide knowledge and service to our brides all while getting you in and out of dresses. A tip is NEVER required but is a really great way to show your appreciation for our time and effort to give you an experience!!"

Someone else also slammed the entire premise of tipping culture in the United States writing: "The tipping culture in the US is out of control. I’m always a good tipper at the hair and nail salons and restaurants (except last week when I had to get silverware for the table 20 mins after asking when the food was delivered). Still tipped 15%. But the dr & all of these other places is a no."

"The only people I tip is a waitress," this user added.

And this person recalled a memory of their own, saying: "I was asked to tip when I checked into the hotel."
