American soldier Vanessa Guillen lost her life in April inside a Fort Hood army base, and it is believed that it was at the hands of another male soldier.
The 20-year-old was initially reported missing on April 22, but her fate was confirmed after human remains were discovered buried along the Leon River on June 30, per the Army Times.
In the video below, Guillen's family personally call for transparency from the army after her death:

Now, Trump has personally offered to pay for Guillen's funeral while hosting the 20-year-old's family in the Oval Office, the New York Post has reported.
The army has also revealed that the male solider suspected of taking Guillen's life committed suicide near the Texas base.
"She wants to know who's really responsible," an interpreter for Gloria Guillen, the 20-year-old's mother, told the president on Thursday. "Her daughter died. Her daughter died in service of her country at the hand of people who are in the military."
Per CNN, the president said he "saw this one on of the shows recently" and that it "hit me very hard" before describing Guillen as a "spectacular person, respected and loved by everybody, including in the military."
The president said that this is not the first time that he's paid for soldiers' funerals.
"I have, I have. I have to do it personally, I can't do it through government," Trump said. "I have because some families need help. They need help."
Trump is currently in the process of helping to expedite the return of Guillen's remains, and her family has turned down the option of a military funeral.
"I don't even know if you need help, maybe you don't need help from a financial standpoint. I have no idea. I just think it's a horrific thing that happened and if you did need help, I'll be there to help you," Trump said.
This comes after Guillen's family encouraged the passing of legislation which will allow soldiers to report sexual abuse that's taken place outside their chain of command, per the Fox News.
