A two-year-old genius with an IQ of 146 has become the youngest American to be accepted into Mensa.

Despite having been born as recently as 2018, Kashe Quest of Los Angeles has been welcomed in the most prestigious IQ society in the world, Fox11 LA reports.

Mensa is an organization of extremely intelligent people who have managed to score in the top two percent on a standardized intelligence test. In fact, in comparison with the advanced toddler's impressive IQ - the average American has an IQ of 100.

Kashe's mother, Sukhjit Athwal told Fox11 LA of her daughter's incredible intellect: "We started to notice her memory was really great. She just picked up things really fast and she was really interested in learning. At about 17, 18 months, she had recognized all the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes."

The bright youngster can also identify all 50 US states by their shape and their location on the map.

Kashe is learning to speak Spanish, has learned more than 50 signs in sign language, and can even count to 100. What's more, she's learning to read and knows the elements on the periodic table based on their symbols.

Athwal continued: "At the end of the day, she's in that toddler stage. So she very much is still a normal two-year-old where we have negotiations, we have tantrums, we have everything and it's different because of the way we communicate with her, it has to be different because she's able to understand just a little bit more."

Athwal has learned to simply let her young daughter lead the way, adding: "I think one of the biggest things with me and her daughter and making sure she has a childhood and we don't force anything on her too.

"We're kind of going at her pace and we want to just make sure that she is youthful for as long as she can be."

Trevor Mitchell, executive director of American Mensa, recently told People in a statement: "Kashe is certainly a remarkable addition to American Mensa. We are proud to have her and to be able to help her and her parents with the unique challenges that gifted youth encounter."

Well done, Kashe!
