UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has welcomed a baby girl with his wife Carrie.
A spokesperson for the couple told the media, per The Independent: "The prime minister and Mrs Johnson are delighted to announce the birth of a healthy baby girl at a London hospital earlier today
"Both mother and daughter are doing very well. The couple would like to thank the brilliant NHS maternity team for all their care and support."

Their baby daughter was born at a London hospital early on Thursday, December 9.
The birth also comes less than 24 hours after Prime Minister Johnson, 57, announced "Plan B" restrictions in an effort to combat the spread of the Omicron variant across the UK. At the same national conference, Johnson faced questioning regarding an alleged "Christmas Party" in 10 Downing Street last December.
During Wednesday's conference, Johnson denied the introduction of stricter guidelines as a "diversion" over the scandal, telling reporters: "You've got to act to protect public health when you've got the clear evidence."
This is the couple's second child together, and Boris' seventh overall. Their first daughter, 19-month-old Wilfred, was born in April 2020.
Carrie, 33, had previously referred to their newborn daughter as her "rainbow baby", a term used to describe a child who was born following a stillbirth, miscarriage, or neonatal death.
Per The Independent, Carrie wrote in an Instagram post back in July: "At the beginning of the year, I had a miscarriage which left me heartbroken.
"I feel incredibly blessed to be pregnant again but I’ve also felt like a bag of nerves.
"Fertility issues can be really hard for many people, particularly when on platforms like Instagram it can look like everything is only ever going well."
Boris and Carrie first got together back in 2018, and moved into 10 Downing Street when he became Prime Minister in 2019. The couple got married in May this year during a secret ceremony at Westminster Cathedral.
Carrie is Boris' third wife.
Congratulations to the parents!
