Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, is set to wear a crown that once belonged to the Queen Mother, reports say.

On Saturday, Queen Elizabeth II revealed her "sincere wish" for Camilla to receive the title of "Queen Consort" when Prince Charles ascends the throne.

The reigning monarch made the announcement as part of her Platinum Jubilee message, as she celebrated 70 years as queen on Sunday. In her address to the people, the Queen wrote:

"And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife, Camilla, the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service."

Per BBC News, "Queen Consort" refers to the spouse of a ruling king. It would mean that Camilla will be likely crowned alongside Charles as his coronation, and she will adopt the title "Queen Camilla" when the time comes.

Now, reports from Daily Mail and Metro have stated that Camilla will wear a platinum and diamond crown that was originally created in 1937 for the coronation of the Queen's father, King George VI.

The crown was given to the Queen consort at the time, Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.

The priceless crown is encrusted with 2,800 diamonds and features the renowned Koh-i-Noor diamond, which Metro reports is one of the largest cut stones in the world at 105 carats.

Queen Victoria first welcomed the Koh-i-Noor diamond into the Royal Family back in 1856, when it was gifted to her by the Sultan of Turkey as a thank you for military support amid the Crimean war.

Following news of his mother's wishes, Prince of Wales expressed his gratitude to the Queen for her support.

In a statement of his own, he wrote: "We are deeply conscious of the honor represented by my mother's wish. As we have sought together to serve and support Her Majesty and the people of our communities, my darling wife has been my own steadfast support throughout."

Prince Charles also celebrated his mother's incredible 70-year reign by praising her "devotion to the welfare of all her people", a devotion he says "inspires still greater admiration with each passing year".
