As widely reported, 19-year-old Slater went missing in Tenerife on June 17 after attending the NRG music festival.
The teen was seen partying at the the Papagayo nightclub the night before he vanished, but questions remain as to why he left the nightclub with two older men.
The group went on a journey by car to the remote village of Masca, instead of returning to his accommodation with friends in nearby Los Cristianos.
With the teen having been missing for just under a month with no concrete leads, Slater's family are not giving up hope.
Spanish authorities previously announced that they were putting a stop to the search, but their investigation remains open.
A new update could potentially give the family more hope as they search for answers.
Mark Williams-Thomas, who previously worked on the Madeleine McCann case, announced he has relayed a "significant new piece of information" to Spanish authorities.

Williams-Thomas has been on the ground in Tenerife actively investigating the mystery of Slater's disappearance.
Williams-Thomas has been in close contact with Slater's family, friends, and several witnesses, regularly updating the police with his findings.
He was the first to circulate an initial description of the two men Slater left a rave with before vanishing.
Slater reportedly stayed at an Airbnb rented by Ayub Qassim and another unidentified man for several hours before he went missing, per the Sun.
Williams-Thomas recently disclosed the events that unfolded in the early hours of June 17, leading up to Slaters disappearance.
According to Williams-Thomas, the apprentice bricklayer left the accommodation "scared" and then embarked on an 11-hour trek back to his hotel in the southern part of the island.
In a video update posted on social media platform X, Williams-Thomas said: "We know now that Jay took certain actions while at the rental because he was clearly worried about his own safety.
"This was shortly before he decided to leave. In the last few days, I have received a significant new piece of information which I've shared with both the British and Spanish police.
"This provides some clarity as to why Jay left in a hurry and did not want to return to the rental even though his phone was about to go flat."
Williams-Thomas did not disclose further details about the new information.
Williams-Thomas has been providing updates on the case via X, suggesting that Slater's disappearance may be connected to an "established criminal network with links to drugs, violent crime, and thefts."
Meanwhile, Slater's father, Warren Slater, 58, expressed his determination to continue the search for his son despite the official search effort being called off.
Slater's brother Zak have been tirelessly hiking through the mountains in Tenerife daily, hoping to find any trace of the 19-year-old.
