A young woman who claimed that she is the missing British girl Madeleine McCann has revealed that she is set to take a DNA test to prove whether she is or not.

As previously reported, last week a video emerged on social media of a woman who alleges that she "could be Madeleine McCann," and it has since gone viral on different platforms.

For those unaware, Madeleine was just four years old when she suddenly disappeared from the holiday apartment she was sleeping in while on vacation with her family in Praia da Luz, Portugal in 2007.

The missing person's case shook the world, with tons of speculation surrounding the young girl - who would now be 19 years old - but unfortunately, she has never been found.

In recent years, many people on the internet have drawn attention to themselves due to their resemblance to Madeleine. The latest person is 21-year-old Julia Faustyna who goes by the Instagram handle @iammadeleinemcann.

Julia revealed that a comment from her grandmother prompted her to believe that she may be the missing girl from years ago. She even posted alleged evidence to her account such as showing how the freckles on her legs are similar to Madeleine's.

To further make her claims, she even said that she also has the same eye condition as the missing girl - who famously had a distinct mark on her right eye known as coloboma - which is caused by a gap in part of the eye's structure.

Julia is so convinced by her claims that she previously wrote in her Instagram bio that she wants to take a DNA test because police investigators in the UK and Poland were dismissing her.

Now, she has alleged that the McCanns have approached her to take a DNA test and hopes to be in immediate contact with them in the next few days.

According to The Mirror, Julia claimed that she spoke with someone from Madeleine's family and that a DNA test "will be done soon" and even reiterated those claims in her Instagram bio.

In addition to this, on her Instagram story she shared an article alleging that Kate and Gerry "have reportedly asked for a DNA after girl showed 'evidence' she's their missing daughter" and wrote over it: "They agreed!!!".

Furthermore, a source close to the parents of the missing girl alleged to the Daily Star that the family "are taking no chances, they are willing to look at all leads. It is important they look at all of the factors, the girl does look similar".

"There’s no disputing that. If what she says is true, there is every chance it could be her. It all adds up," they added.

While there is no official confirmation that the McCanns have agreed to the DNA test, the woman's unsubstantiated evidence has managed to attract over 616K followers on the social media platform, with her story also going viral on TikTok.
