Kate Middleton has proved she's a woman of her word after keeping a promise she made to a little girl battling cancer.

According to The Sun, the Duchess of Cambridge honored her promise to dress "like a princess" when she invited five-year-old Mila Sneddon to Holyrood Palace - the royal family's residence in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The young girl, who has been diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing chemotherapy, was known to Kate already, having featured in Middelton's lockdown photography project.

Take a look at this video of the meeting between Kate Middleton and Mila:

The girl was pictured last year being separated from her father, Scott Sneddon, during the first lockdown, after he had to go to work and could not risk bringing coronavirus into the family home in Falkirk, Scotland.

This image showed Mila kissing her dad through their kitchen window, symbolizing the boundaries between those isolating to protect their families, loved ones, and vulnerable people.

Kate later spoke with her young photography subject on the phone, after the picture of her and her father among 100 selected for the duchess' Hold Still exhibition and book.

The Sun reports that Kate asked if she could meet Mila during this call, and Mila agreed, on the condition that Middleton wore a pink dress of the kind worn by traditional fairy tale princesses.

According to the above publication, Kate then replied: "Okay, well I have to make sure I go and try and find myself a pink dress so that hopefully, when one day hopefully, Mila we'll get to meet and then I'll remember to wear my pink dress for you."

Sure enough, when Mila did meet Kate, she was resplendent in a knee-length pink gown and heels, which nicely matched the similar pink dress and silver tiara worn by the young girl herself.

Upon meeting her, Kate told Mila: "Hi Mila, look at you. I want to give you a big squeezy cuddle, it's so nice to meet you in person."

She then added: "I love your dress, can you do a little twirl - and your shoes," and spent the rest of the time chatting with her and her father, her mother Lynda Sneddon, and her big sister Jodi.
