The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II included many touching moments that left viewers feeling incredibly proud.

One particular moment that left the nation brimming with pride was seeing young Prince George and Princess Charlotte - the two eldest children of the Prince and Princess of Wales - attend the day's events and pay tribute to their late great-grandmother.

With nine-year-old Prince George dressed in a dapper navy blue suit and seven-year-old Princess Charlotte looking regal in a black ensemble, viewers couldn't help but point out just how brave the young royals were for walking behind the late queen's coffin as they entered Westminster Abbey for the morning's funeral service.

"Don’t know how Prince George and Princess Charlotte have kept their composure. Both of them very brave," one impressed viewer tweeted, while another added: "Can I take the opportunity to say how brave Prince George and Princess Charlotte were today. They have done you and their Gan Gan proud."

However, one touching moment between the siblings certainly didn't go unnoticed by viewers.

The Sun reports that lip readers spotted the moment where Princess Charlotte appeared to remind her older brother of royal protocol and informed Prince George that he needed to bow his head when the Queen's coffin went past.

After footage of the moment was shared to social media, Twitter users couldn't help but shower the young princess with praise for looking out for her big brother.

"Charlotte, the boss," one person tweeted.

A second tweeted: "Charlotte telling George he needs to bow is just gorgeous, she was definitely born to be a little princess."

Another viewer described the moment as "cute", writing: "This is so cute Princess Charlotte telling her big brother Prince George 'you need to bow'".

A fourth added "[It's] so lovely the way Princess Charlotte helps Prince George. I saw her telling him he needs to bow. What a brilliant little girl".

One notable absence from the day was that of Prince George and Princess Charlotte's younger brother, four-year-old Prince Louis, who was reportedly deemed too young to attend an event of such enormity.

However, despite many royal fans agreeing that Prince Louis was indeed too young to attend the event, many enjoyed speculating on the sort of mischief he was getting up to while at home.
