London Bridge sealed off after reports of gunfire

London Bridge in London, United Kingdom has been cordoned off after reports of gunfire.

BBC reporter John McManus said that he witnessed a group of men embroiled in a fight on the bridge. He told the BBC News channel;

"Just a few minutes ago I was walking across London Bridge on the south bank to the north bank of the bridge.

"There appeared to be a fight going on on the other side of the bridge, with several men attacking one man."

He said that police subsequently arrived, and shots were fired.

Per the BBC, the metropolitan police confirmed that they were responding to an incident at London Bridge. They advised members of the public to follow the instructions of officers in the area.

The Metropolitan police took to Twitter to issue the following update:

"Police were called at 1:58pm to a stabbing at premises near to London Bridge. Emergency services attended, including officers from the Met and @CoLP

A man has been detained by police. We believe a number of people have been injured. Further info to follow."
