A dog owner facing $25,000 in vet bills has said he'd "sell his house" to keep his beloved pooch alive.
Jaxon Feeley from Wigan, near Manchester, UK, was left devastated after his pet Weimaraner named Rambo suffered a medical emergency on January 20.
The two-year-old dog went into what is known as hypovolemic shock, a condition whereby the heart is unable to pump enough blood around the body due to severe blood or other fluid loss.
Rambo had been vomiting over 30 times during the night, so Jaxon took her to the emergency vet for treatment.
"On Friday 20th January she began vomiting throughout the night over 30 times and by Saturday morning we were in the emergency vets. She had gone into Hypovolemic shock," Jaxon wrote on a GoFundMe page for Rambo, which has reached over $20,000 of its original $12,000 goal. "This type of shock can cause many organs to stop working."

Throughout the week Rambo began to vomit and instead of coming out her mouth this fluid was going back down and into her lungs which has resulted in her gaining infection within her lungs," he added, stating that Rambo was suffering with "severe pneumonia" and that one lung had collapsed.
In the description for the GoFundMe page, Jaxon wrote that the vet declared Rambo "could not have been any more unlucky with what has happened," saying that the initial cause is still unknown.
"Rambo's insurance has covered her up to £6500. Her bill is now up to £11,500 after 1 week in care. It is unknown how long Rambo will need to stay at the vets and intensive care costs is approximately £1000 per day. If the worst happens and Rambo requires major surgery, the cost of this as well as the aftercare is something I need to be able to give my little baby girl," Jaxon wrote.
The prison officer worker even stated that he'd "sell his house" to keep Rambo alive, per The Daily Mail.
Fortunately, Jaxon posted an update to his fundraiser, writing that Rambo was doing much better and was allowed to return home to Jaxon and his other dog Rocky.
"Over the last 3 days, Rambo has pulled off a miracle, hour by hour she has increased her oxygen efficiency, started eating and drinking, her lungs are slowly recovering and we started to see that beautiful little personality resurface. She got herself into a little routine of seeing me for 10 minutes every 4 hours that she even knew what corner of the waiting room to find me in," the update read.
It concluded: "There are no words to express how grateful I am for everyone's love, support & donations over the last 2 weeks. It genuinely means more than you will ever know [...] these dogs have saved my life more than once and I will stop at nothing to save theirs. From me, Rambo, Rocky & the Feeley's, THANKYOU for everything from the bottom of our hearts [sic]."
