A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering primary school teacher Sabina Nessa.
Nessa, from South London, was found dead aged 28 on September 18 in Cator Park, Kidbrooke, the BBC reports, and police believe that she was attacked the previous night.
Now, a 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder on Sunday (September 25) in East Sussex at about 03:00 BST.
Surveillance footage was previously released of a man walking through Pegler Square on the night Nessa was attacked (September 17).
The teacher had been making her way to The Depot bar to meet a friend after leaving her home on Astell Road.
Her tragic death became known the next day when her body was discovered near a walkway by a member of the public.
A postmortem was subsequently undertaken to establish the teacher's cause of death, but it was inconclusive.
Today's arrest is not the first made in connection with the case, and two other men have also been arrested in connection with Nessa's disappearance, but they have both now been released.
Scotland Yard has revealed that the 28-year-old's family has been updated about the latest arrest.
News of the arrest comes after police said that they wanted to speak to a man seen carrying a red object through Pegler Square, ITV reports. It is not known if this is the same man arrested today.
The Metropolitan Police said that he may have been trying to hide a "reflective red object" up his sleeve in surveillance footage that has been released to the public.
A vigil was held at Pegler Square and over 500 people attended, with Nessa's sister paying tribute to the late teacher by saying that she "lost an amazing, caring, beautiful sister, who left this world far too early."
She said her family's "world is shattered, we are simply lost for words."
A book of condolences has also been opened up at the OneSpace community center, which is close to where Nessa's body was discovered in Cator Park.
