Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have revealed in their interview with Oprah Winfrey that a member of the Royal Family raised "concerns" over their son's skin color prior to his birth.

As reported by CNN, the Duchess of Sussex made the comments during her highly-anticipated interview alongside husband Prince Harry, which aired last night on CBS.

During the two-hour interview, the former Suits actress claimed that there were "concerns" within the Royal Family regarding the skin tone of their unborn child.

Speaking to the iconic interviewer, Meghan said that there were several "concerns and conversations about how dark his [Archie's] skin might be when he was born".

Winfrey, who appeared momentarily stunned by the claim, then asked Meghan, "Who is having that conversation with you?"

Meghan then clarified that there were "several conversations" with Harry.

Once again seeking an explanation, Winfrey asked: "There's a conversation [...] about  how dark your baby is going to be?"

Meghan then responds: "Potentially, and what that would mean or look like."

"That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that family had with him," Meghan added, but declined to reveal who was involved in those conversations, saying that it would "be very damaging to them".

Later in the interview, Harry joined his wife, and was asked by Winfrey for more details.

"That conversation, I am never going to share," Harry said. "At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked."

Even after Winfrey asked if he could share the questions posed during the conversation, the prince declined, saying: "I'm not comfortable with sharing that."

However, Harry did clarify that those conversations were "right at the beginning" of his relationship with Meghan.

On a more positive note during the interview, Meghan and Harry revealed the sex of their unborn child, announcing that they are currently expecting a baby girl.

Per The Telegraph, when asked whether their unborn child was a boy or a girl, the Duke responded: "It's a girl."

Winfrey, 67, the asked Harry how he felt when he saw the ultrasound scan, to which he replied: "Amazing."

He added: "[I'm] just grateful to have any child. Any, one or two, would have been amazing but to have a boy and then a girl what more can you ask for?

"Now we've got our family, we got the four of us and our two dogs."
