The frantic scene unfolded as civilians and officers scrambled to apprehend the suspect, resulting in multiple injuries and the tragic loss of 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin's life.

Anjorin was described by his family as "a wonderful child" who was deeply cherished in his community.

Expressing their grief, Anjorin's family said to Sky News: "No family should have to go through what we are experiencing today."

Anjorin attended Bancroft's private school, where the flag is now flying at half-mast in his memory.

The school told Sky News: "He was a true scholar, demonstrating commendable dedication to his academic pursuits. His positive nature and gentle character will leave a lasting impact on us."

The Metropolitan Police have announced that a 36-year-old man, Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, has been charged with the murder of the 14-year-old, per the Telegraph.

Monzo, a dual Spanish-Brazilian national has also been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith said, per the Independent: "This is an incredibly tragic incident that has resulted in a young boy losing his life and his family devastated.

“On behalf of the family, I would ask that their privacy is respected.

“I know that many people will want answers and we are working to provide them as soon as we can. I would also echo previous calls for patience as my officers carry out a painstaking investigation to deliver justice for Daniel, his family, those injured, and the wider community.

“We are starting to build a picture of what happened on Tuesday and I want to thank everyone who has come forward to share dashcam, doorbell, and mobile phone footage with us."

Residents and other well-wishers have traveled to the scene where Anjorin was murdered with flowers and other tributes in order to pay their respects.

Monzo is expected to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court later today (May 2).

Our thoughts continue to be with Anjorin's loved ones, and all those affected by this attack.
