Earlier today, Prince Philip was laid to rest following a beautifully simple ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

However, despite a nation coming together to mourn the loss of the Duke of Edinburgh and support Her Majesty The Queen, attention was undoubtedly on brothers Prince William and Prince Harry.

The service was the first time the princes had been seen together since Harry and Meghan's groundbreaking interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Viewers first caught a glimpse of the siblings as they walked in the procession behind a modified Land Rover carrying Prince Philip's coffin.

But the brothers did not stand side-by-side as the public may have expected - instead, they were separated by Princess Anne's only son, Peter Phillips.

Then, following a Covid-compliant ceremony, many viewers breathed a sigh of relief as both William and Harry could be seen walking together - talking away alongside Kate Middleton.

The heartwarming sight led many to take to social media to praise the pair for coming together on their grandfather's funeral.

One Twitter user typed: "seeing william, harry and kate talking, and walking together was really great to see! [sic]"

A second social media user emphasized: "Prince William, Kate and Harry. Family comes first".

"Not a royalist but it did warm my heart seeing William, Harry and Kate so close," another tweeted.

A fourth social media user wrote: "Awww William and Harry walking & talking together, and Classy Kate stepping aside to give them space Sparkling heart after #PrincePhilipfuneral.. this Mama's heart is full of Joy seeing this."

Another person wrote: "Anyone else breathe a sigh of relief at seeing William and Harry walking and talking together?"

Prince Philip is now the 25th member of royalty laid to rest in the 200-year-old crypt beneath the castle.

The Duke's body will remain there until the death of his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, upon which time, the body will be moved to join the Queen's, along with her father in the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
