Piers Morgan has finally announced his new presenting job following his unceremonious exit from Good Morning Britain.

Twitting to his eight million followers on Thursday (September 16), 56-year-old Morgan revealed he has joined Rupert Murdoch's latest TV channel, talkTV.

Morgan wrote: "BREAKING: I’ve gone home. Great to be rejoining Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation after 28 years. The place I started my media career, with the boss who gave me my first big break. We’re going to have a lot of fun…"

As reported by The Sun, talkTV is set to launch in 2022, and will cover the latest in "news, sport, entertainment, and much more".

The channel will reportedly be available "to all Brits - both live and on-demand."

Morgan infamously quit from his position as presenter of Good Morning Britain back in March, following criticism of his comments regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In the lead-up to his exit, Morgan famously stormed off set when he was confronted about his feeling for Markle by the show's weatherman, Alex Beresford.

During Markle's interview with Winfrey, she revealed that she had experienced suicidal ideations during her time in the British Royal Family, telling Winfrey: "I just didn’t want to be alive anymore. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought."

The Duchess of Sussex also claimed that a member of the Royal Family raised concerns with husband Harry about the skin color of their unborn baby.

She said: "In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of, 'You won’t be given security, not gonna be given a title' and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born."

However, in response to the interview, Morgan said on Good Morning Britain that he "didn't believe a word" Markle said.

"I wouldn't believe it if she read me a weather report," he added.

ITV received a reported 58,000 complaints via watchdog Ofcom, but after an investigation, they eventually ruled that Morgan was "entitled to say he disbelieved" the Duchess of Sussex's claims about the Royal Family.
