A shocking text message has been revealed after a 23-year-old prison guard was arrested for having sex with an inmate in a prayer room.
Isabelle Dale, 23, a former prison officer, has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison after engaging in a romantic relationship with two inmates and plotting to smuggle drugs into prison.
Dale, who worked at HMP Coldingley in Surrey, had a sexual encounter with convicted robber Shahid Sharif in the prison’s prayer room, with two other prisoners keeping watch outside.
CCTV footage captured Dale leaving the room, appearing to "readjust her belt area" after the brief liaison, which lasted just four minutes. Sharif later sent a message to Dale, saying: "It was good sharing dat love today ur p*s ammaazzzeeeingggggg."
Secret Love Affair with Multiple Inmates
Dale's illegal relationships didn't end with Sharif, as she also had an intimate relationship with another inmate, Connor Money, who was serving time for a fatal car crash during a high-speed police chase.
Text messages recovered after her arrest revealed the romantic nature of their connection, with one message from Dale reading: "When you know you want me and only me lol xx."
Dale's Relationship With Sharif
The court heard that Dale became increasingly besotted with Sharif, who was serving a 12-year sentence for a violent robbery.
According to The Sun, she bought herself a £3,000 ($4,000) engagement ring and even had a framed canvas of the couple hanging over her bed.
She also tattooed Sharif’s street name, "Sneaks," on the back of her neck and referred to herself as "Miss Sneaky" in love letters to him.
Some of these letters were found to be laced with synthetic cannabis, known as "Spice," which she had smuggled into the prison.
Dale's criminal activities escalated when she conspired with the prisoner and his associate, Lilea Sallis, to smuggle drug-soaked envelopes into HMP Swaleside in Kent, where Sharif had been transferred after their affair was discovered.
The plot was foiled by a postal strike, and Dale was arrested during a visit to Sharif in November 2022.
Police discovered drug-smuggling paraphernalia in the boot of Dale’s car, along with a "quantity" of love letters and provocative photographs she had sent to Sharif.
Evidence of Further Misconduct
Further investigations uncovered evidence that Dale had been communicating with Money and other inmates.
She even sent a laughing emoji after discussing a documentary about prisoners grooming prison staff.
In addition to this, it's also been revealed that she transferred £100 ($134) to Sharif via two payments and continued to send him suggestive images and messages through the "Email a Prisoner" system.
At one point, she attempted to get Sharif's sister to smuggle a USB device into the prison on his behalf, BBC News reported.
Judge Christopher Hehir sentenced Dale and condemned her actions, calling her a "thoroughly devious and untruthful and manipulative young woman".
Despite defense arguments that her behavior was influenced by mental health issues, the judge stated that Dale had used her vulnerabilities as "a shield and an excuse" for her actions.
He further suggested that she had joined the prison service with the intention of becoming involved in criminal activities with prisoners. "She wanted to do it," he said. "She's attention seeking."
Sharif and Sallis were also sentenced for their roles in the drug-smuggling plot. Sharif received a 27-month sentence, while Sallis was sentenced to two and a half years.
