The full 30-person guest list who will be attending Prince Philip's funeral

Buckingham Palace has revealed the full list of the 30 guests attending the funeral of the late Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh's funeral is due to be held on Saturday, April 17, at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle after an eight-minute ceremonial procession within the grounds.

The relatively small scale of the ceremony is due to current COVID restrictions limiting group gatherings.

According to The Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth II was forced to make difficult choices in whittling down the original 800-strong congregation to its present size, while ensuring that all branches of the late Duke's family could attend.

The full reported list is as follows:

1. Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth is, of course, the most important guest at the funeral. After wedding the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947, the couple remained married for more than 73 years.

She will lead mourners as they gather in St George's Chapel on Saturday, and her family has rallied around her following the "huge void" left in the wake of her husband's death.

2. Prince Charles

As the first son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip and heir to the throne, Prince Charles will also be in attendance at the funeral.

The Prince of Wales recently spoke about how touched he had been by the British public's tributes to his "dear papa."

As the second in line to the throne, the Duke of Cambridge will also be in attendance. In a recent tribute to his grandfather, Prince William wrote:

"I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humor."

4. Prince Harry

Prince Harry has also confirmed that he will be attending the funeral, flying back from his current residence in California. His pregnant wife, Meghan Markle, will not be attending, on the advice of her doctors.

5. Camilla-Parker Bowles 

Camilla-Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, will also be attending the funeral in support of her husband Prince Charles.

Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, has been confirmed as one of the guests. The Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Cambridge allegedly enjoyed a close relationship, following her well-publicized wedding to Prince William in 2011.

7. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York

The second son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip is another one of the 30 guests. The Duke of York was forced to retire from public life due to his scandalous involvement with disgraced billionaire sex offender Jeffery Epstein.

Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew, has also been confirmed as a guest.

In an emotional tribute made on Instagram earlier last week, the Princess thanked her grandfather for his dedication to their family and noted: "We all miss you."

9. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Property developer and the son of Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, will accompany his wife Princess Beatrice to the funeral on Saturday.

10. Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, will also attend. The Princess also boasted a close relationship with her grandfather, writing in an Instagram post of her own:

"We all miss you. You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days."

Jack Brooksbank, the husband of Princess Eugenie, has also been confirmed as one of the guests. The couple recently welcomed a new baby boy into the world, and have been married since 2018.

12. Prince Edward

The youngest son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip has also been invited to the funeral. Per The Mail, the Earl of Wessex commented on his father's death by stating:

"He may have departed this world, but his spirit and ethos live on through his award, through each and every life touched, transformed, inspired; then, now and in the future."

13. Sophie, Countess of Wessex 

The wife of Prince Edward enjoys a particularly close relationship with the Queen and has often supported the monarch in times of strife.

In a brief statement made to news reporters in the immediate aftermath of Prince Philip's death, the Countess stated that the Queen had been "amazing" in how she had handled the situation.

Lady Louise Windsor, aged 17, is the eldest child of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and 14th in the line of succession to the British throne.

In the wake of her grandfather's death, she accompanied her parents and Prince Andrew to a church service at Royal Chapel of All Saints; meeting members of the Windsor Estate staff to share memories and condolences.

15. James, Viscount Severn

Thirteen-year-old James, the youngest of the Queen and Philip's grandchildren and the son of Prince Edward and Countess Sophie, will also be attending the funeral.

16. Princess Anne

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's only daughter Princess Anne will also attend the funeral.

According to The Mail, in a statement made when visiting the Royal Yacht Squadron at the Isle of Wight, she honored her late father by calling him: "My teacher, my supporter, and my critic."

Sir Timothy Lawrence, a Vice Admiral and chairman of English Heritage, has also been confirmed as a guest - accompanying his spouse, the Princess Royal.

18. Peter Philips

Peter Philips is the 43-year-old is the eldest son of Princess Anne and was the Duke of Edinburgh's first grandchild, and will also be seen at Windsor Castle on Friday.

19. Zara Tindall

Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, was a firm favorite with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip - even naming her son Lucas Philip, in honor of her grandfather.

Zara's husband, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, reportedly boasted a good relationship with Prince Philip, who was a keen athlete in his youth. He will accompany his wife to the proceedings this weekend.

21. The Earl of Snowdon

David Armstrong-Jones, the Earl of Snowdon, is Queen Elizabeth's nephew, and son of her late younger sister, Princess Margaret.

As the 21st person in line to the throne, he was recently selected by Prince Charles, his first cousin, as his number two in The Prince's Foundation, his primary charity organization.

Lady Sarah Chatto is also one of the 30 invitees. As the daughter of the late Princess Margaret, and niece to the Queen, she is reportedly much loved by Prince Philip before his death.

23. Daniel Chatto

Lady Sarah's husband Daniel Chatto, whom she met while working as a wardrobe assistant on Heat and Dust, will accompany her to the funeral. The couple married back in 1994.

24. The Duke of Glouchester 

Prince Richard, the Duke of Glouchester, is a first cousin of the Queen. Although he is not as well-known as many others members of the Royal Family, he did manage to land himself a spot in the proceedings, although his wife, Danish-born Birgitte van Deurs, was not so fortunate.

25. The Duke of Kent

Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, is the Queen's first paternal cousin, will be attending Saturday's service, although his wife, Katharine, will not be attending, having retired from public life owing to her personal health struggles.

26. Princess Alexandra

Princess Alexandra is the Queen's first cousin and her close confidante. Fiercely loyal to the crown and the Royal Family, the 83-year-old became better known to the public through her efforts to assist in raising awareness of the Covid pandemic.

Bernhard, the Hereditary Prince of Baden, is the grandson of Prince Philip's late sister Theodora, and a member of the Duke of Edinburgh's germanic heritage.

28. Prince Philipp

Similarly, Prince Philipp of Hohenlohe-Langenburg is one of three members of the Duke's European family attending the funeral.

Per The Mail, he recently commented on his relationship with Philip, stating: "It was such a joy having a conversation with him. His memory was extraordinary."

29. Prince Donatus

Prince Donatus is the head of the House of Hesse - which the Duke's two younger sisters, Cecile and Sophie, married into

In an official statement regarding the funeral, Prince Donatus wrote: "It really is an incredible honor and we are all extremely touched and privileged to be included on behalf of the wider family."

30. Countess Mountbatten

Finally, Penny Brabourne, aka the Countess Mountbatten of Burma, will also attend the funeral service.

The countess was an extremely close friend of the Duke of Edinburgh, and The Mail reports that she was nicknamed "And Also" by palace staff, as Prince Philip always added her name to guest lists.

Commenting on the service, a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace told The Mail: "At its heart, it is still a family event. We are following the Covid guidelines.

"There was a limit on who could be invited as a guest and Her Majesty wanted to ensure that all branches of the duke's family were there, and had to make some very difficult decisions about who would be there.

"For those that unfortunately can't be there, I'm sure they will be making their own private arrangements about how they commemorate the duke, and indeed celebrate the duke."
