Three women found dead, UK police hunting for man 'with crossbow'

A manhunt is underway following a tragic incident in Bushey, Hertfordshire, where three women were found with serious injuries and pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services responded to a residence in Ashlyn Close around 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening after receiving distressing reports.

Per BBC News, the victims - who police have confirmed are related - tragically succumbed to their injuries despite the efforts of police and ambulance crews.

Authorities have identified 26-year-old Kyle Clifford from Enfield, north London, as a suspect in connection with the triple murder.

Detective Superintendent Rob Hall, leading the investigation from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Hertfordshire Major Crime Team, emphasized the severity of the incident and urged the public's assistance in locating Clifford, who is believed to be in either Hertfordshire or north London.

"This is an incredibly difficult incident for the victims' family, and we would ask that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with what has happened," stated Det Supt Rob Hall. He further appealed for public cooperation: "If you believe you see him, please do not approach him and dial 999 straight away.

"He may still be in possession of a weapon."

Sky News has reported that the weapon in question may be a crossbow.

The East of England Ambulance Service deployed a hazardous area response team and air ambulance crews to the scene, yet despite their efforts, the women could not be saved.

A statement from the service read: "Three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle, the Hazardous Area Response Team, the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and London Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

"Sadly, despite the team's best efforts, three women were pronounced dead at the scene."

Local councillors Louise Nicolas, Alan Matthews, and Paul Richards expressed their shock and condolences, describing the incident as a devastating loss for the community of North Bushey.

"We extend our thoughts and condolences to their families and all those affected," they said in a joint statement, urging anyone with pertinent information to cooperate fully with the ongoing police inquiry.
